It’s great to have this amazing Mexican food franchise at St Ives but when comparing it to the Chatswood store the St Ives shop is lacking in a number of ways. It’s a tricky store to find unless you’re familiar with St Ives, sadly this restaurant is a semi hidden attachment to Ampol Woolworths Metro Go service. If you know the back exits from St Ives Shopping Village it’s only a short walk along Mona Vale Rd to this restaurant. There is only a very small area outside to sit and have a meal, it’s really more suited to take away meals. But most disappointing is I found the servings of food (Nachos & Taco’s) were far smaller in serving size Vs the Chatswood store. I think this store needs a franchise head to see what the kids are serving up here, it needs to be fixed up fast. What semi surprised me was how few orders were happening at the weekend lunch time I was there ordering food. I certainly know the Chatswood store is super busy at lunch time but this St Ives store was super quiet. I really think the biggest problem going on here is the lack of visibility of this store. Look at the roadside photo I have taken at the entrance of the Ampol service station, you barely notice the Guzman Y Gomez branding in the area. You can’t make a secret successful and the servings need to match what’s being done at the amazing Chatswood outlet hence my 2 star review. I keep coming back and nothing much changes.

After eating burrito wrap and bowl I'm mexican food lover..,I'm vegetarian and hard to find vegetarian food specially in the franchisees, but GYG the only franchise they have healthy vege food option..Thanks to my husband who told me to try this mexican food.. I love to eat burrito bowl and wrap everyday if i hv chance. The only bad thing is that in Australia GYG is not everywhere. Update review: I love to eat burrito, this is good one & healthy..but nowdays the food quantity and taste is very bad in st ives foodary..staff is not experienced and friendly, service is slow even they forget to add stuff in the bowl, i have pictures my husband ordered vege spicy bowl they even don't add guacamole and that was very salty.Felt like I wasted my money eating this, better options instead of this. Update Review: Quantity is very less everytime if i ordered via app or walk in order. The qty is less every time. I ate burrito bowl in sydney and like in newcastle ,regionals etc but everywhere qty size is good enough but here I'm not satisfied with the food qty..

Revised to 3 stars on 28 July 2019. The staff continue to let GYG corporate (and gyg customers!) down. Irregular portion sizes, far too much salt on corn chips, half-filled pico de gallo and black coriander at the condiment bar. It's unclear what's going on at this restaurant, but I've been to many GYGs in three states, and this ranks as the worst of them. Condiments were running low or empty, but I love the food; Spicy pork tacos and chips with pico every time for me. Was served by a polite young man (I think his name was Sam). Hang on to that guy, as he seems like a good worker. Given that there's a small seating area at St. Ives, I'd like them to provide trays for eat-in orders. We ended up with a lot of surplus take away packaging, and couldn't find a recycling bin for paper or glass. It's quite a nice little restaurant - despite being located at a service station.

the worst GYG I've ever experienced. I am a regular Guzman Y Gomez customer, all over Australia, and I am yet to find one worse than the one located inside the servo in St Ives. The staff are either rude, act like they don't want to be there, don't talk, or don't pay attention to when there are customers waiting to be served. Today, I was the only one there, and stood waiting to order for at least 2 minutes before the boy stopped walking in circles looking at the ground. He didn't look me in the eye when talking to me or whilst I was ordering, barely communicated at all, didn't smile, and didn't ask if I wanted it Mild or Spicy ... after asking for my money I had to let him know that I wanted Spicy, as he had automatically put in Mild, this was followed by an eye roll and grunt as he fixed it. Following that, I saw one of the girls making the food, make a whole serve of Nacho's for herself, before making mine, the paying customer. Once mine was made, the guy whispered my number and left the box on his side of the counter so I had to reach across to grab it. I sprinkled on the old dried up greens and onions and continued on my way. I don't think I've ever eaten corn chips as stale as the ones in that box. They were un-chewable, inedible. Lucky that there was such an extreme amount of spicy sauce, more than the amount of meat, to give them a bit of flavour and make them a bit more soggy so my mouth could actually digest them. The cheese wasn't melted, the guac was going brown, the meat was in a big clump, and I didn't see any sour cream. It ended up straight in the bin. Overall, this is easily the worst ever Guzman Y Gomez experience I've had. St Ives could learn a thing or two from the ever popular UNSW campus one, or even any of the ones...
