This afternoon Mum and I had an excellent lunch at the T-spoon Café in Jamisontown in the home maker centre near Spotlight.
When we arrived, Mum and I were greeted by Carol who looked after us today.
The menu was extensive and there were many options to choose from.
I chose the Salt & Pepper Squid which consisted of hand cut strips served with chips, salad, and tartare sauce.
Mum chose the Haloumi Corn Fritters which consisted of two savoury fritters accompanied by zesty guacamole, smoked salmon, or bacon & a pair of poached eggs.
The salt and pepper squid were delicious.
The outside of the squid was crisp, the flavour was exactly right and the inside was not dry, the seasoning was not too spicy.
I enjoyed dipping the squid in to the tartare sauce and the sauce elevated the salt and other flavours within the squid.
The chips that accompanied the squid were crisp, not dry and were seasoned well.
The salad was fresh and I enjoyed the cherry tomatoes along with the lettuce, cucumber, carrot, and the vinaigrette dressing.
The dressing really enhanced the flavours of this amazing salad.
Mum really enjoyed her corn fritters. They were tasty, crispy, full of flavour and not dry.
Mum really enjoyed the salmon that accompanied the fritters.
The eggs were cooked well, slightly runny and the flavours were exactly right.
Mum and I ordered two flat white coffees to finish off our excellent lunch. The coffees were creamy, full of flavour and not bitter.
T-spoon café use Toby Estate coffee for their brand of choice.
I highly recommend the T-spoon café and give this venue a ten out of ten.
The atmosphere was pleasant, the service today was friendly and very attentive.
I really appreciated Carol checking with the chef when it came to asking about my sesame allergy.
There are other options I wish to try on the menu and I will visit this venue again in the future.
Thanks so much team for making our experience the best that it...
Read moreI come here once every couple of weeks. The staff is so nice and has a lot of patience. I love the atmosphere, and most of the girls are really friendly, even when they're super busy on the weekends. The menu is huge and the prices are worth it. Lately though, the service seems to be going downhill. I got a coffee to go today and it took forever. I wouldn't have minded if they were busy, but the girl making my drink was too busy chatting and laughing with other staff in their language to actually get to work. The chocolate wasn't even stirred properly—it felt like she was more concerned with not breaking her nails than with making my coffee right. The worst part was her attitude when she finally called out my order! This is very disappointed! I'm a regular, so I'll definitely be back, but if the service doesn't improve, I might have to find a new spot in the future! The photo is the chicken schnitzel I got last time I was there. Juicy chicken, very nice and hot gravy.
Re: Thank you for your reply T-Spoon management. The barista at the time was making my coffee very slowly while joking around with other staff, even though both I and another customer were waiting. I have no problem with someone enjoying their job, but in this case, she called out the drink in a very rude manner and with an unfriendly expression on her face. After that, she just left my drink without any care and turned away straight after. I'm looking forward for the improvement and hopefully it will make me...
Read moreLast straw with them. Used to come here heaps as I loved their iced chais but couldn't justify the price but still stop in every now and then. We got donuts the other day as they looked good and the price wasn't bad but they tasted so old and still partly frozen. Also got a chai frappe and was charged for cream, it is illegal to charge for something when no cost is listed ( if it is instore, it isn't online), also if there is a charge you need to say that when offering. So dodgy. The drink was nearly $10! For the price drinks should come with cream if the customer wants it.
Edit-please see attached photo of the menu which appears when you select your store on the Tspoon website and then download menu. The menu is different than the one on the main page and no price for cream is listed. Also if you read my review properly I stated I used to get them all the time, also I didn't write the review whilst still ordering so you must be mistaken. 90 cents is a ridiculous price for cream which should come for free on a $9 drink! This isn't just about whipped cream. It's about being told to sit to order and then being ignored whilst I was alone with my baby, it's about frozen tasting donuts, it's about bitter coffee and I could put a lot of that aside if staff had been friendly but unfortunately some staff there have...
