Mithai Joint Riverstone (Mithai Junction) — Restaurant in Sydney

Sorry but please don't waste your time or money here. I thought having the name Mithai junction it would taste the same as the shop in blacktown but boy was I wrong... We sat down the air conditioning was so low it was like I was in a freezer then it took 20 mins for them to take my order now normally at Mithai junction we order South indian food as my son love it. But we were told sorry we don't do south indian food, when I asked why is it on the menu then her reply was I don't know sorry but we just don't do it.... So after trying to sort out what we wanted then we ordered butter chicken and naan... I have no idea what we got but I can tell you it was not butter chicken it was so sweet and looked like some weird mix of spices blended together... The naan was so thick and like rubber and roti's were like potato chips... I will definitely not be back if you want a good feed head over to the blacktown shop...

I ordered Punjabi chicken and cheese naan. And cheese naan was a garlic nan with no trace of cheese at all. Cheese naan is supposed to have a reasonable amount of cheese, that’s why they are called cheese naan. And Punjabi chicken was tandoori chicken in a gravy. I did not order tandoori chicken. I did not order chicken tikka masala, I ordered Punjabi chicken, and I got something else, and the pieces were too bony.

Appalling Business Practice – Hiding Behind “Everyone Does It”

Mithai Junction Riverstone openly overcharges customers by including the weight of their boxes (100–200g) in the price of sweets at $35–$40/kg. When questioned, staff admitted the owner instructed them to do so. Speaking to the owner was even worse – their justification was “everyone does it”.

Let me be clear: if everyone commits the same unethical act, it does not make it right, legal, or acceptable. In Australia, businesses are legally required to deduct packaging weight before charging. Ignoring this is a breach of consumer law and can lead to fines.
