Murugan temple canteen is in the Murugan temple in May hills near westmead. There are mostly South Indian food in varieties like apum, vedai, idly sambher, masala dosa, sabji puri and soft drinks like mango lassi, rose milk and coke. The food is very pocket friendly and the quality and quantity is Tommy friendly 🤪. The taste is really good. It opens at 5.30 to 8.30pm on Friday to Sunday. It is always crowded so you have to wait but at the end food is delicious n mouth watering.. want to taste again and again 😍😍

Canteen of Sydney Murugan Temple run by volunteers. Open on Friday Saturday and Sunday from 5.30 in the evening till about 9 p.m. Dine in and takeaway options available. Good quality food and ample quantity in economical prices. Snack items and hot tea is also available.

Food: Veg spring rolls are good Poori - too thick, no taste Dosa - not fried properly Vada - Outside ok, but inside will be raw - again consequence of being too large. Chutnee, sambar , curry - won't taste at all, potatoes always too big. It has been the same for about 3 years now, no change at all. Why don't any one managing this realize it? Generally salt is less or non-existent , good for health conscious, but that's we do at home daily, when I come out expect to eat food tasting good prepared by some experienced people.

Overall cheap, but taste is only ok. However, never had any upsets, quality is good.

For those who cant afford saravana bhavan etc for their exorbitant prices, they can find some relief of getting Indian food here.

Tables can be cleaner, but people who eat are also pathetic, they dont clean after they leave the table, it is typical Indian mindset that someone else will do the cleaning, but when they visit Maccas or Hungry Jacks, they wipe the...

If you are going for it is prasad from the Lord and nothing more and nothing less than that, then i would say you have no business coming down here for rwviews but if you have , Please stop reading further as this review is purely considering the food quality and taste and nothing related to the sanctity of the place. T yes, the food is quite inexpensive but really not worthwhile more so considering the long waiting timeswhuxh actyally tricked me and most people ,at least 30 minutes or so for a dosa on a weekend The dosa was not even remotely authentic ,with the alu palya loaded with garam masala , vada was crispy on the outside and uncooked / raw inside, and idly was hard and the mango Lassi was sour ! overall, not at all worthy to visit the canteen at all . Again , the temple is great , quite a vibrant feeling when you are there, and the canteen visit was...

Food is very good at an affordable price. You will get most of the southern Indian pure vegetarians food.

My favorites are Dosa, idly and Vada.I also love their Rose (flavoured) milk. I personally don't like their poori (very thick in texture) and masala tea.

The service is run by temple volunteers. Many times food service is slow and you may need to wait for atleast 15 mins and sometimes upto an hour.

Inside canteen there is poor air ventilation in the canteen kitchen, which (cooking fumes) impacts the dining area.

Overall my go to place for quick bites during my...
