Dining out is not just about the food — it’s about the whole experience. At La Mono Merrylands, the food has always been reliable, but what truly elevated our most recent visit was the exceptional service from our waiter, Wasim. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left, Wasim made us feel like VIPs. His professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail turned a regular meal into something genuinely memorable.

Right from the start, Wasim greeted us with a warm smile and a positive energy that immediately stood out. He was welcoming without being overbearing, polite without being stiff, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what he does. He took the time to explain the menu to us, gave honest recommendations based on our preferences, and was patient with our questions — even when we changed our minds about what to order (twice!).

Wasim’s knowledge of the menu was impressive. When we weren’t sure whether to go for the charcoal chicken or the lamb skewers, he described the flavors and textures in detail and even suggested pairing options. He didn’t just try to upsell — he actually listened to what we liked and tailored his suggestions to suit our tastes. And he was spot on — the food was perfect.

Throughout the meal, Wasim checked on us at the right times — not too often to be intrusive, but just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. He noticed when our water glasses were getting low and topped them up without us needing to ask. He brought extra garlic sauce without hesitation and even remembered who ordered what when the dishes came out, which shows that he was paying attention and cared about getting it right.

One of the standout moments was when a small issue came up — one of our dishes was delayed slightly in the kitchen. Wasim was upfront and apologetic, explained the situation calmly, and offered complimentary dips while we waited. His honesty and quick thinking made what could have been a frustrating moment feel well-handled and professional.

Wasim’s attitude was consistent with every table he served. We could hear him greeting other diners with the same enthusiasm, answering questions, and making everyone feel comfortable. It’s rare to see someone who can juggle so many tables with such ease and still make each group feel like they’re the priority.

In an industry where service often feels rushed or robotic, Wasim stands out as someone who truly cares about the customer experience. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work, and it made all the difference to our night out.

Overall, our experience at La Mono Merrylands was fantastic, and Wasim played a huge role in that. I’d highly recommend asking for him if you’re dining there — he’ll make sure your visit is smooth, enjoyable, and full of good vibes. We’ll definitely be coming back — not just for the food, but for the...

Hi everyone, As my friends suggested me, i went to LaMono Merrylands for the first time. I ordered Whole chicken for takeaway which cost $18+ something and paid the bill. My order was taken by a guy who is in 35-40+ age i think so. After paying the bill i was waiting for my order then suddenly the same guy called me and said that he dont have whole chicken but he only have legs, i was shocked because i can see 5-6 whole chickens in front of me from the glass and i asked him why? I can see 5-6 whole chicken here na?? He said These are for other customers. 😳 Then who am I?😓 Am not the customer?🙁 I paid the bill too!! He is not giving me for free!! Is that not the money? Which i paid.

I felt so depressed and said nothing but took the chicken legs and decided not to visit again. I was very tired on that day and bit dusty coz am coming from my job and he treated me like this and i felt shame when he said those are for other customers.. He didn't saw me as a customer, he just saw me as a uber driver and treated the same. Even i do uber eats delivery😞😞

I felt the pain very hard and am not a person who writes the review for everything but this time i wanted to write for sure so that he wont treat other like he treated me

PLEASE TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME!!!😞😢

“THESE ARE FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS” this line am unable to...

Dinner without the kids!

I can't believe how good the charcoal chicken is and how much you get. I had the traditional lebanese plate with rice and baba ganoush added.

Nadia was really nice and made sure I had everything. I love this place. It's the centre that Hilltop has grown around. I've brought business friends here before. And my large family. But it would be a nice place for a date too - La Mono has it's feet on the ground.

This is demonstrated by how brilliantly first class Lebanese food can satisfy the demands of modern Australian cruisine - delicious lean protein bbq'd so it's still juicy - could you cook it like this at home? There's a selection of the healthiest carbs - fresh flatbread, rice and crunchy chips too. The salads are fresh, the dips authentic - this is what you want.

La Mono is successful with its takeaway too. It's a really good option for hungry teens so they don't eat rubbish.

Oh and the coffee is perfect. It's a flexible menu that can accommodate everyone. And if you don't have to dash, the seating is relaxed, there's undercover and umbrellas outside.

I really think it's the flexibility that can accommodate everyone and that takes professional service and great value so you don't have to think twice before dropping in.

Please don't...

Had an incredible dining experience at La Mono in Merrylands! We ordered the Mixed Plate which came with a generous serving of chicken, beef, and lamb wrapped in perfectly crispy flatbread, accompanied by creamy hummus, garlic sauce, pickles, and fresh tabbouleh. It was the perfect way to try a bit of everything and great for sharing. We also had the Quarter Charcoal Chicken with Chips, so tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. It made for the perfect DIY wrap with all the sides. Their falafel and fried cauliflower were standouts too. Crispy, golden, and amazing when dipped in their tahini sauce. The variety of salads added a nice fresh balance to the meal. To finish, we tried their fruit cocktail dessert, which was beautifully layered with avocado, mango, and strawberry. It was creamy, refreshing, and reminded us of a Middle Eastern-style trifle. The service was SUPER (shout out to Casey - hope that's spelt correctly 🫣) friendly, portions were generous, and everything was bursting with flavour. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a hearty and delicious Middle Eastern feast!

On this day, Sunday 8 Sep 2024, 1st time dined at La Mono Merrylands | Charcoal Chicken & Lebanese Cuisine, 106 Burnett St, Merrylands NSW 2160 and it won't be the last. Food was great and (human) service was top notch, from Nadia and John (Jon). Nadia recommended to us to try their homemade chilli garlic sauce dip. It was good choice. Order the charcoal 1/2 chicken set and a side order of the Vine Leaves. Half way through the 1/2 charcoaled chicken, ordered charcoal 1/4 chicken set. Yep, whacked the entire lot of the 3/4 charcoal chicken set, vines leaves and bread. This was our meal for the day. Very full and satisfied. The eating area was breezy and airy which is to our liking. We don't come out of the restaurant smelling like we BBQ'ed/charcoaled the chicken. The human service was unforgettable let alone the yummy Lebanese charcoal chicken cuisine. Thank you, La Mona Merrylands!
