I met a friend for lunch today at O’Nikki. When I arrived, I sat inside, at a table for two but it was a bit stuffy, given it was a warm day, so I asked one of the girls if I could move to a table closer to the door so we could have access to some fresh air. She was just clearing the table and she agreed that I could sit at it once she cleaned up. When the table was cleared, I made my way over to the table, but before I sat down another waitress hurried over to tell me that the specific table is for 4 people on weekends/public holidays. I was surprised given that only a third of the tables were taken but thought nothing of it and looked around for another table. She then suggested we sit at a table closer to the back of the cafe. I thought nothing of it at that moment as I assumed that was what the waitresses were advised to do from management and given that it is policy, it was no big deal, as it would apply to all customers. Five minutes later, I noticed a customer walk in and help herself to the table, no questions asked, and went on to order a drink. Fifteen minutes later, she was joined by one more customer. So 2 other customers ended up sitting at the table we had been told we could not sit at because it is set aside for 4 people. The women customers stayed for about an hour, and got up and left. The young waitress noticed me looking over in disbelief, but was nervously avoiding eye contact. It’s a pity so much work and effort has been put into setting up this cafe, which we have visited on a number of occasions, but customer service is so obviously second rate and customers are...
Read moreFood was good, there's a good selection on the menu and our group enjoyed it. However if you plan to book, don't do it through the Quandoo website (as listed on Google). I booked 4 days before the planned arrival, and when I arrived, the head waiter mentioned that they don't have my booking. I also got questioned if I booked it that same morning, or if it was booked yesterday, but I showed them the email confirmation and they just settled with "we don't have the booking." The head waiter tells us that there's a 5-10 minute wait for a table inside, so we said that's fine and waited for a bit. A table outside frees up and was offered to us, but because the weather is quite rainy and windy, we opt out of sitting outside to wait for the initial inside table. However, because of some kind of miscommunication, the head waiter just tells us to sit at the outside table. My friend goes inside to ask about the inside table (since we asked for this) and he received the response of "it'll be a 30 minute wait for an inside table." I understand that issues like missed online booking can occur but the attitude was quite blasé in response to what happened. I would reconsider coming back for good food because the service was average and...
Read moreI strongly believe this a hidden gem for the local. We didn't expect much when deciding to come and eat here and we were blown away. The atmosphere is calm and cool, the staff are super nice and friendly and beautiful. The food is absolutely stunning and delicious, quality and quantity wise. -Big Brekkie: Always a go-to for any cafe out there. Beautiful clean presentation. They have house made hasbrown and use the very good butter which is Pepe Seyer (if you know you know). For the price that you paid, it is worth it. -Onikki Eggs Benny: Please, it tastes just as good as its look. It was very well-represented. I'm not a big fan of hollandaise but this one was seasoned well and very suble. Smoked pork neck and poached eggs were cooked beautifully. And again, house made hashbrown. We can tell they use fresh and good quality ingredients. Everything was cooked well and not overly salty at all. It's an open kitchen, we can observe how the chefs prepared the food and I know they cook with love. Thank you so much for the experience, we definitely gonna come back with our friends and families. HIGHLY TRULY...
