I recently had the pleasure of visiting Rust Bucket Belmore Cafe, and I must say, it left a lasting impression. Tucked away in a quiet corner of town, this cafe exudes a rustic charm that immediately draws you in.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a warm and cozy atmosphere, with wooden accents and vintage decor that added to the overall charm. The friendly staff made me feel right at home, providing attentive service throughout my visit.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu at Rust Bucket Belmore Cafe offers a delightful range of options, from hearty breakfast fare to mouthwatering lunch specials. I opted for their signature Turkish eggs, and it did not disappoint. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the yogurt was creamy and flavorful. The addition of poached eggs and a sprinkle of chili flakes added an extra kick that elevated the dish to another level.
To accompany my meal, I ordered a green juice and Turkish tea pot it was a work of art. The barista’s attention to detail was evident in the beautifully crafted foam design, and the rich, smooth taste left me craving for more.
What sets Rust Bucket Belmore Cafe apart is not just the food, but also the overall experience. The laid-back ambiance, combined with the friendly staff and delicious offerings, creates a welcoming environment that encourages you to linger and enjoy your time.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Rust Bucket Belmore Cafe, it’s important to note that taste preferences can vary. However, if you appreciate a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and delectable food, I highly recommend giving this cafe a try. It just might become your new favorite...

We had breakfast after hearing about this place from a few friends. We ordered the bosphorus breakfast for 3 and some fresh orange juice.
We walked in, sat down were greeted with a warm smile. The menus didn't have pictures, it was quite hard to pick what we wanted. We put our hands up like 5-6 times and it turned out we had to order at the counter.
Once we ordered we discovered that the OJ wasn't freshly squeezed, (not the end of the world). A nice platter came, fluffed up with a lot veggies and stuff. Half of it was just fluff. The pastirma was good, sujuk subpar, the egg was kinda plain.
Our cutlery did not arrive till we asked for it, along with the tea. The tea was a nice 2-pot Turkish tea setup, tasted just right too. The hot water kept running out and having to ask for it took a while which got a bit annoying.
The cheese selection was excellent. They had different types of bread and pastries. The sigara borek was by far one of the best I've ever had. If I could walk in and just order that I would.
Price wise, it is not cheap. With the level of service provided unfortunately I can't rate then being "worth it". We paid about $120 all up for 3 people.
We asked for a place to wash up (our hands at the least). We were told to walk around the corner find door no:3 and there'd be a toilet. We got there only to find a door with no handle on it, inaccessible.
Comparing it to Kismet and Cook&Co. I'd say this place is 2nd. So better than cook and co in Auburn, but a long shot from kismet grounds...
Read moreI discovered Rust Bucket Café on Instagram while living overseas and couldn’t wait to visit during my trip to Sydney. The café is small but lively, with a steady flow of customers. They don’t take reservations, so there’s no guarantee of a seat, but the staff made an effort to accommodate everyone.
When I mentioned seeing their Instagram, the staff were genuinely excited and made us feel welcome. They were friendly, attentive, and helpful in explaining the menu. We ordered the Shanklish Smash, Avocado Smash, and Blueberry, Lemon, and Ricotta Buttermilk Pancakes, along with a side of hot chips.
The food was visually stunning and tasted just as good as it looked. The Shanklish Smash featured house-made Shanklish (a tangy, fermented cheese), fresh veggies, and poached eggs on rustic sourdough, with layers of flavors in every bite. The Avocado Smash had beetroot labneh, avocado, heirloom tomatoes, and pomegranate, with a poached egg on top—it was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The pancakes were fluffy, with a blueberry coulis, fresh fruit, meringue crumbs, and vanilla bean gelato. It was indulgent and well worth the wait.
The hot chips were crispy and served in a generous portion, a simple yet satisfying side.
Special shoutout to the kind owner or manager, who was delightful and made our visit even better. If I lived in the area, Rust Bucket Café would be my go-to spot to share with friends and family. Until my next visit to Australia, I’ll be dreaming of their menu....
