Fantastic little mom and pop style restaurant with amazing views and attentive service. The food was second to none. The house made cheese was so creamy and decadent and the olives really punch you in the face with a briny, umami hit. For the mains we had the Ros Il-Forn and Chilli Prawns. The Ros Il- Forn was stunning. Since I have never tried this dish before I cannot comment on the authenticity and I do not have anything to compare it to but I do know it tasted amazing. Rich and savoury it is not nearly as heavy as it looks or sounds. The chilli prawns had zero heat to them but regardless they were perfectly cooked and the sauce was so good that I didn't even mind the lack of chilli. Beautiful, locally sourced wines. The waitstaff know their product and are able to offer recommendations if you would like. Expertly crafted cocktails with a real kick and an overall fantastic dining experience. The only thing that let the meal down would have been the desert. We tried the Bajadera, a chocolate and Walnut torte and unfortunately it really let the restaurant down. It had a very strong "Play-Doh" taste to it but as I mentioned earlier, it was otherwise a memorable dining experience. I would love to return sometime soon and encourage others to give it a try.

Nothing but five stars for both food and service! We dined here this week for hubby's birthday and it was certainly worth the drive up the mountain. I am a coeliac so am always a bit anxious about eating out (as many places I've been to, don't quite understand what gluten free means/how not to cross contaminate). Not so here. The owner is a coeliac herself so completely understood what is required to create beautiful gluten free food. We had a few tapas dishes and desserts too and every single one was amazing. Standout was the chicken tenders and sauce - such amazing flavours and a truly crispy coating with succulent chicken contained within. It was so nice to be able to go out and have something that wasn't your standard grilled steak and salad with no dressing. So much variety, and a wide range of authentic foods from different cultures made it an exciting lunch. The only (minor) disappointment was the citrus cheesecake was just out of the oven (was REALLY looking forward to that!), however the desserts we had instead were insanely good anyway. There is no question we will be back. Only wished we lived a little closer.

This is my second time going to Schembrae's, the first time I did not eat there, but the atmosphere and the drinks were amazing. Fast forward to today, the day that the Greater Sydney was going to be placed into a strict lockdown at 6pm, myself and family members decided to go to Schembrae's for our last outing before 13 days of lockdown. And all I can say is, i'm glad we chose to do so. Ruth the owner, as well as the lovely waitress were so accomodating, chatting to us and making sure we were never an empty glass, or waiting to be served, their service was 11/10. I ordered the Chilli Prawns and they were amazing, "the best prawns I've ever had" was a statement I made at the table, the drinks were beautiful, as well as the atmosphere and the people. I could not fault anything. Can't wait to be back when the lockdown has been lifted.

My husband and I joined by friends and family celebrated our wedding reception lunch at Schembraes. Ruth and her team went over and beyond from beginning to end. Ruth was so gracious and accomodating leading up to the event and far exceeded our expectations on the day. She and her team could not have done a more beautiful job with the set up of the tables, it was more than we had hoped. The food was exquisite and not only beautiful, but plentious, the servings were generous and more than enough. Every dish was served in a beautiful timely manner, and the timing between meals was just perfect. We were waited on like royalty and the experience for us and our guests was a perfect celebration, a heart warming, joful, fulfilling and memorable experience with five star quality all round. A beautiful restaurant, with beautiful food, beautiful staff, a beautiful view and beautiful service. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, and well done Ruth and team, you truly made our...
