Semsom Lebanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Sydney

I really was pleasantly surprised with the food here. The 4 dishes totalled 55 dollars which I thought was quite reasonable. I ordered the spinach sambousik, lamb mansaf, large fattoush and chicken tawook roll. Flavour wise everything was really tasty. The spinach sambousik were nice and hot with a generous amount of filling (reminded me of my mums), the salad was freshly dressed and crunchy with crisp vegetables, the lamb mansaf was really wholesome with nice and tender lamb peices and finally the tawook roll was packed full of chicken and coleslaw with a nice balance of flavours and well toasted without being too garlicy. Would highly recommend to anyone locally. I don't think you can get food at this price for this quality anywhere nearby so give it a go. These freshly cooked hot Falafel balls, were fluffy on the inside with a perfectly crisped, thin outer crust with a seseame seed twist in flavour. Representative of the name of the store, 'semsom' meaning sesame seed. The Lebanese pickles consisting of diced pickled gherkins, pickled turnips & green chilli pairs great with these Falafel. The Tahini dip it came with was made well, in a perfect consistency, like yoghurt.. The lemon & garlic flavours are evident in this dip, which other stores seem to lack in getting the flavours of this dip right..

However the Falafel mixture I feel, needs to have more raw green herbs added to the Falafel blend.. To be more of an accurate representation of the Lebanese Falafel which the Lebanese cuisine is famous for..

Absolutely love Semsom! This place is hands-down one of the best spots for Lebanese food in Sydney. Their falafel is next level — crispy on the outside, fluffy and full of flavor on the inside.
