Thai Rim Nam — Restaurant in Sydney

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE STAFF ATTITUDE.😡

Went to the restaurant with my family of 5, ordered their banquet meal for four people specifying that: I am allergic to 90% things on their banquet menu (with allergies to coconut, curry spice and seafood) The amount of food for 5 people for the banquet would be too much for four, but the rest of the crew still wanted to try the banquet as it was highly recommended by our friends We are willing to pay for the 5th portion/ order a separate dish just for me to eat, so it's not like we were going to have 5 people share the 4 dishes with 0 will of understand the restaurant's circumstances.

We confirmed with staff before ordering when we were choosing the menu that we can do so, but only to be stopped by the exact same person from ordering until a senior staff member came out and said it's ok.

My dish came earlier than the banquet menu, where I took my portion to my plate and am not finished with my food. (Also their meat was very dry) Got asked by 3 staff members, 1-2 times each throughout the night on whether I was done with my plate, obviously trying to prevent me from stealing food from the banquet menu when I explicitly said I am allergic to most things, not like I'm going to kill myself by eating.

Banquet menu came, staff member "this is a banquet menu FOR FOUR PEOPLE", then went around the table serving the rice for four people onto their plates, super rude in specifying it, as if I'm a thief who's getting a warning.

Throughout the night, I could feel the same staff members going around our table, observing my plate to see if I've stole food from the banquet, making it the most uncomfortable meal every in my life.

It is ok to say no to us ordering a banquet meal for 4 with 5 of us present, we understand that a lot of restaurants do that, but for the restaurant staff to have said yes and then be sceptical about us and "warn" us verbally as customers is absolutely gross and discomforting. I have been going to this Thai restaurant for nearly 20 years! I have since moved from Oyster Bay to Cronulla and STILL travel to get Thai food (12km=25 minute drive). I love this place for lunch or dinner (or just takeaway). My daughter is VEGAN and they have multiple options available (my daughters’ favourites are the curry puffs). My favourite meals are LAKSA (when I visit my other daughter who lives 90 minutes away I have to take two tofu vegetable laksas for her and her friend). I still love the chicken laksa. Chicken pad see eew or pad Thai King prawns snd snow peas (with coconut rice) 4 actually..... EVERYTHING IS FANTASTIC. I have never had a bad meal from here. The staff are so lovely (I have even booked out the whole restaurant for my 40th birthday 16 years...

Located at 2 Cremona Road, Como, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 I had heard so many great reviews about this restaurant, I just had to come check it out and I was NOT disappointed. The food was amazing. It was so delicious. I had the Siracha Prawns for entree and the Pad Ka Prao Chicken for mains and I the presentation alone was impressive, let alone the taste. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. I can’t wait to come back. We sat inside because it was really cold today but they did have an outdoor seating area for the right temperature and the view over the Como Marina and Georges River is beautiful.
