Como Hotel is a unique hotel with an amazing view and a gorgeous design. The hotel certainly fills a very isolated part of Sydney in Como, leading to a community filled pub! Today was my first time dining at Como. It was a unique experience that had positives and negatives. We had reserved a table of 8, and it was all ready and neatly set up! The initial appearance is delightful and comfortable. I found the chairs quite comfortable. The menu is quite well designed, allowing the customer to have a clear menu to read from. The service was very nice, it was decently efficient, the food made its way to our table in a speedy manner with kind waitresses! The food looked really good and delicious, we had ordered 8 dishes including chicken schnitzels, a Parmigiana, rump steak, chicken and lamb skewers. The food tasted okay, unfortunately it had not entirely surpised me, it had flavour but due to a lack of seasoning, this reduced the quality in taste. The pan-fried chicken unfortunately did not taste very nice. It was very dry and completely under seasoned. The chicken appeared to only be fried for a minute on one side and then inserted into the oven, losing all that juice as it must have sat in the oven for a long time. The vinaigrette was mixed in with the mash potatoes, making the potatos bitter and acid. Unfortunately, the potatoes had not been well pressed, and we were left with clumps of solid potato in the mash. The Parmigiana, unfortunately, was not traditional made. It's unfortunate to see that there was no ham in the Parmi, making it a schnitzels with cheese and sauce, which is not a Parmi. This happens often in Australia, quite upsetting. However, on the other hand, the rest of the food was quite delicious. I would encourage more seasoning to be introduced to the steak as it tastes rather grilly and under seasoned. The rest of the food was great, and the family was happy. I would give this place 3.5 stars. However, I was disappointed with my Parmi and with the chicken a family member ordered. Overall, Como Hotel offers a unique experience in the beautiful suburb of Como with an outstanding view. It seems like the food isn't as cared for as the look of the pub. Some work into the quality of the food will improve the overall quality and enjoyment of customers. However, most of the dishes were well cooked, leaving my family happy! If you are in the area, visit this beautiful pub and hotel.

Full marks all round! I highly recommend The Como Pub, the staff are all exceptional characters with special mentions to Sam and Robbo. Thanks to the chefs who always cook up a storm, see pic, I'm a big vege fan who also enjoys the pubs salmon dish. As of today Guinness is on tap, so smooth. The heritage atmosphere overlooking an oval lined with trees with the sparkling Georges River in the back ground framed by Victorian lacework balustrade, set under a bull nose corrigated decorative awning is just superb. This place burnt down in the 90's, fantastically the publican rebuilt the legendary heritage pub back to its original grand stature. Clearly, I'm a fan of our Aussie built history, also the staff, both front of house and behind the scenes. No need to think twice over a visit to The Como Pub!

We had a 70th celebration in the private function room and it was the perfect space for close family and friends to come together. There are plenty of food options to choose from to accomodate everyone and the venue is wheelchair and child-friendly with a small play space for little ones. Verandah that joins from the room is great to sit out and have a drink overlooking a beautiful view of the football field and water in the backdrop. Also provides extra space for kids. The Events Coordinator, Skye was very helpful, communicative and accomodating in planning all the details for the day.

Visited this lovely place the other day with some family/friends. It's a beautiful heritage building steeped in history. There is a distant view of the bay from the balcony. It has many rooms with a nice vibe. It is a nice venue to hold a party or get together ONCE they hire a real chef! or anyone that has cooked or eaten good food. Until that day, I will not be returning.

I was very disappointed with the seafood platter for two @ $80 (bar for the oysters, which were fresh.)

However, as for the remainder of the seafood platter, what a let down! For anyone that can make lobster taste like bland rubber they are CLEARLY IN THE WRONG TRADE. The prawns were not fresh and only recently thawed out as they contained too much water. The "smoked salmon" cut too thick with no hint of smokeyness at all. The calamari were not served hot and they too lacked flavour and aroma. If it wasn't for the four wedges of lemon the seafood was completely insipid and unpalatable to swallow. Essentially, It was frozen seafood taken out of the freezer, thawed and plonked on our plate. The chips were good.... However, if it is a seafood platter that I order, that is what I want. If I want chips I will go to McDonalds.

In regards to portion size it certainly wasn't the largest that I have been served elsewhere but nor was it the smallest.

Having had a look at my family/friends pasta dishes, I cannot comment on their behalf, however I can say that their portion sizes were quite conservative.

I do have an expectation when I dine out that the food would be at the very least to the same standard that I have at home.

I hope that they take on board this feedback to actually improve their food and not merely take offence. It is a lovely place and if accompanied by great food would a...

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Como Hotel Grill and my experience was truly unforgettable, all thanks to one remarkable staff member—Angel. From the moment I arrived, Angel's warm and welcoming personality set the tone for my entire stay. She went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, from checking me in swiftly to offering helpful suggestions about the area.

What truly stood out about Angel was her genuine care for guests. She wasn't just doing her job; she was passionate about making sure everyone felt comfortable and valued. Whether I needed a restaurant recommendation, directions, or simply a friendly chat, Angel was always there with a smile and a solution. Her professionalism was matched only by her kindness and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

It's not often that a staff member makes such a lasting impression, but Angel’s exceptional customer service skills, along with her upbeat and personable nature, made my experience at Como Hotel Grill feel truly special. I can honestly say that her attentiveness and thoughtfulness elevated my experience, and I would return to the hotel simply to have the pleasure of being assisted by her again.

Thank you, Angel, for making my visit so memorable. Como Hotel Grill is lucky to have someone as dedicated and wonderful as you on their...
