Thai Thae Restaurant – A Delicious Thai Escape in Mascot Located in the heart of Mascot, Thai Thae is a standout for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine with a modern twist. Whether you’re a local or just passing through the area, this spot offers a warm and welcoming dining experience that consistently leaves guests impressed. The food here is excellent, with a well-curated menu that delivers classic Thai flavours without overpowering spice. Dishes come with light to medium spiciness by default, making it perfect for a wide range of palates—though spice lovers can request an extra kick. Highlights include their pad see ew, massaman curry, crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli, and the beautifully balanced papaya salad. Every dish arrives beautifully plated and bursting with fresh ingredients and bold, yet balanced, flavours. The ambience is lovely—modern, stylish, and comfortable, with warm lighting and subtle Thai décor that adds an elegant touch without being over the top. It’s equally suited for a casual dinner, date night, or even small group catch-ups. Service is another strong point. The staff are quick, attentive, and friendly, ensuring that your meal runs smoothly from start to finish. Orders arrive promptly, and they’re happy to accommodate dietary preferences or spice level adjustments. Whether you’re dining in or ordering takeaway, Thai Thae delivers a consistently satisfying experience. It’s a gem in Mascot and easily one of the best Thai options in the area. Expect great food, relaxed vibes, and a service team that gets it right every time.

Thaithae restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with very friendly and attentive service. It is close to Mascot station and just around the corner from the main shopping mall. I love that the high ceiling is covered by greenery to provide a cosier feel while still remaining spacious. The kitchen and restaurant are clean and the bar is displayed neatly. The service is amazing with friendly smiles and personal conversation that really sets this place apart. I would recommend giving the green soda a try: it’s sweet and has a flavour of lime and rose water. For those needing wheelchair accessibility, the entrance and tests floor is at ground level and the toilet has a wide door, a wide room and assistive bars. The toilet room is very clean and sanitary. Overall, we were really taken by this Thai restaurant due to its cleanliness, neatness, friendliness, tasty food and its well laid-out menu. Great spot!

This was our second visit, having previously tried the Hurstville location, which was a bit disappointing. We decided to give this one another try, and we’re glad we did! Last time at Hurstville, the Pad Thai wasn’t great, so we opted for different dishes this time—and it was a great choice. The Pad Kring Ping was amazing, and the duck curry was exceptional, especially the crispy skin. I’m usually not a big fan of duck, but since it was a recommended dish, we gave it a try—and it did not disappoint! The curry gravy was so delicious that we even ordered extra rice just to soak it all up. One small hiccup—the waiter forgot one of my friend’s dishes, but it was understandable since the place was busy, and we came with a group of 20. Despite that, the service was friendly, and the food was well worth it. Definitely worth a visit!

I normally come here around 1:30pm - 2pm for lunch during slow hours

I have no issue with the food However, it seem staff are more busy facing the counter talking than checking cue if their customer is showing a sign that they are ready to order behind them.

Last time i went to your restaurant same experience with others, i heard 2 customers next table that they been signaling the staff to take their orders but they are not seen because staff is not looking for cues rather waiting to be called. Again 2pm is not busy hour

Also id like to mention 2 months ago i went here the same time as usual i thought of having my lunch first before my meeting.

Someone took my order and I waited for 15mins and my order has not arrived on my table, i can see that there are takeaways being picked up so i thought maybe i give a little a bit time tho its not busy.

After 20mins i asked the staff if my order is coming because meeting will be in 30mins and i havent eaten yet. To my surprised my order was forgotten and was not put through in the system. I was given a menu and asked what did i order.

I stand up and left.

The only time i come back here is because my colleagues wants to eat here. But personally i do not want to come back here

If you could train your staff that whoever gives the menu, seated the customer in or take their orders always in check until...

Extremely disgusted about the food quality and allergens. I am extremely allergic to mushrooms and requested my order not to have any, they gave me food with mushrooms. When I ask them to change, instead of cooking the dish again. They just shoved off the mushrooms that were in front of their eyes. I started eating knowing it's a different plate and halfway I could see mushrooms again. The audacity to serve a meal to a person who highly allergic, SHAMEFUL!!!! highly Unprofessional and inhumane. I started itching all over my body and started having difficulty breathing. Hey did not even had any audacity to apologise. When i started panicking and gng out of the restuarant, one of the waitress just caught me and started saying we will give money back or something, i could barely comprehend what she was saying that time. I dont need the stupid 17$, keep it!! Extremely extremely pathetic service and no empathy customers with allergies. The manager dint even bothered to show up. And this is the 2nd time happening with me. I went there 2 years back and just wanted to give them another chance, no improvement. The amount of stress I went through and amount of time I lost recovering being in office cant come back. I will never recommend this place to anyone especially if you've allergies. Zero empathy or...
