I've been a fan of Ettamogah for years, likely since my teens, and it pains me to write such a review. After booking what we thought was an inside table, we were placed outside with half the required chairs for our party being a horrible communal lounge. The table had been gathered for our seating but the table was sticky and unclean. I asked a team member to clean the table which she returned 20 minutes later. She sprayed the chemical across the table at me then half heartedly wiped small sections, leaving it sticky again. She did this at multiple tables. Maybe training required. After waiting for all guests we lined up for food, we checked with the bar staff the usual requirements for our Loyalty Card and ordering and proceded to join the 30 minute queue. We got to the front and found we couldn't use our loyalty card at the bar. Being a significant discount, we then had to onshare our personal details via a QR code at the table. This caused a large amount of time between guests receiving thier dinner and subsequently we all ate at different times, others after the first guests had finished. Knowing people book here for parties, the TV is really not required to be so loud that guests can't talk across a table. So loud it was uncomfortable. The food was wonderful as usual.

The Ettamogah Pub is a kid-friendly pub where the adults can enjoy some drinks and relax while the children can experience the various activities such as playing on the play equipment, using the rock climbing wall or even in the arcade. Safety is assured as harnesses are placed on the children if they go rock climbing. There is a fee for the rock climbing but the fee is worth it as it can be very exciting for the kids to enjoy. As of the menu, it includes various dishes, even some are suitable for vegetarians. Some of the options in the menu include: Veggie/beef/chicken nachos with avocado dipping sauce and sour cream, Cheeseburger with fries, Chicken schnitzel with fries and so many more options. This pub is a really good choice for families or people with kids, because there can be entertainment for the kids while the grownups have a chilling evening or lunch break. The tap beers are great. Friendly staff and great food. The tacos is worth trying. There is a play area for kids as well. The toilets are neat and clean. There is plenty of parking as well. Overall a place to enjoy.

From the staff , to the venue , to the food ... couldn’t fault one little bit. WHAT AN AMAZING VENUE ! We booked tables for my sisters 18th birthday through the manager Ashley , who was nothing but polite , well spoken and such a great help trying to work out the best place for our booking. Staff also called prior to confirm and make sure we had no changes which was also really good. On the night 8th may 2021 , it was easy to get organised and our deposit was given instantly on a venue gift card which made things easy. The lady behind the bistro bar with red hair .. ( didn’t catch her name ) honestly made our night ! From singing happy birthday to my sister while pouring drinks to just making us all laugh and smile ! JUST A VIBE !! ❤️❤️ Just a massive thank you to the Ettamogah Hotel for making Lauren’s 18th the best it could of been ❤️ We didn’t have kids with us , but there were also SO MUCH for kids to do from arcades to rock climbing walls ❤️

The Ettamogah has come a long way from what it used to be.

These days it’s a nice relaxed family orientated venue that has a lot to offer.

The venue has a lot of indoor seating available , but the best part about the venue is the beer garden especially in summer it’s absolutely fantastic.

The food is a hit and miss and lacks consistency, I have been eating at the venue several times and the food is never the same!

The worst part about dining on at the venue on the weekend which is their busy period is the waiting times where you can end up waiting for up too and hour plus for your food to be ready.

In addition, because they are so busy and don’t have enough staff the food sits at the counter for way to long and by the time it comes to your table is either warm or even cold.

The biggest issue I have is when they forget who placed an order and they can’t locate the table, they just announce it over the intercom hoping for someone to hear it and collect their meal!

I mean seriously, get more staff, get a little bit more organised or simply cut down on the number of bookings it’s not rocket science!

The outdoor staff who work the beer garden are super nice and try their hardest to please every customer but are let down by lack of staff numbers.

I mean the lady at the pizza and out door cafe is running around on her own making and serving coffees and cakes as well as taking orders to the tables.

Inside they have way more staff then required and none of the staff is willing to help despite being able to see that the outdoor staff is struggling and are too busy chatting with one another.

Management ought to take a really long and hard look at the their staffing allocation and make the outdoor dining area priority.

Lastly, all the staff in general are really nice and work their butt off but I can’t say the same of management.

On my previous visit which was a month ago I was seated next to the outdoor big screen TV when I could overhear one of the managers an older lady with purple/pink hair using profanity.

I’m not gonna repeat what was said but let’s just say the F bomb was dropped a few times.

How do I know she was a manager I asked a staff member who advised me that the female in question was the event manager/organiser of the venue.

Overall the venue Is a little disappointing as it has so much potential and could be one of the best family venues in the west but a lack of direction and vision as well as poor management is keeping the place at the bottom.

Apparently there is a new licensee at the venue so let’s hope they can turn the place around and breath some new life...

Located at Cnr Merriville & Windsor Roads, Kellyville Ridge, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 The Ettamogah has so much history, it was made famous by it’s creator Ken Maynard who started drawing it 1959. His cartoons were legendary. The original Ettamogah was located in Albury, New South Wales and was built by businessman Lindsay Cooper in 1987. This venue is no longer in operation. However, there has been a total of three other locations including Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and in Cunderdin, Western Australia and finally the one we visited today in Kellyville which opened in 2003. We had quite a large group today at the Ettamogah Pub (56 people) and the staff handled our orders pretty well considering. There was a few mixups and confusion but overall it was pretty smooth. The staff were very patient and friendly. I had the lunch special Chicken Schnitzel and chips for $15.00. Great value and was delicious, cooked perfectly. The majority of our group were very happy with their meal also. The pub itself is designed fantastically. Very eye catching. I loved the drawings by Ken Maynard and the plane in the ceiling as you walk through the front door. The outdoor seating is great. Plenty of seating and the Crooked House Cafe is great for a coffee and a cake. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ but I think it would be bouncing on a Friday or Saturday night because I saw the stage for live entertainment. I would love to go when there’s a band playing. The rock climbing wall is great for kids. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend....

I had the most odd experience tonight . I was where the pokies were when the attendant ‘Isabella’ approached my husband and I . She asked if we wanted a drink while we played and we ordered one drink, I had my Apple wallet open on my phone ready to pay when she persisted that inside the pokie room there is no eftpos so she grabbed my phone and said she’s going outside to make the payment on my behalf while I stay in the in pokies: I was a bit shocked she has just grabbed my phone and left with it and was kind of like what the? She comes back 5 minutes later with the drink and I’m like um where is my phone? She laughs and says Woops left it out there and went back to get it . I don’t know what she was doing with my phone or if she skimmed my card information but I have now stressed she did something and have cancelled all my cards. It was seriously so off and unprofessional how she just grabbed my phone and left with it having all my Personal cards information on there . When she came back the second time with my phone , my husband actually confronted her and asked what she was doing with my phone and that she was sus and she just looked and laughed . It’s really left a sour taste in my mouth what the hell she was doing when she went off with my phone . And if management wants to look into this to see what she did with my phone this was in the Saturday 4th January 2025 in the pokie room...
