The Grain Thai — Restaurant in Sydney

After reading some fairly good reviews of this restaurant I wanted to give it a go. It might be the best Thai restaurant in the area, I don't know, but in relation to good Thai food, this place is very, very average.

The curry puffs were cold in the centre, the Pad Thai an unappealing grey and the beef salad had was like a Chinese style beef, with a type of gravy over it. At the end of the meal when I asked for a take-away box, I was happy to pack it myself but the waitress took my plate to pack it for me.

I may have thought this was a kind of service from a fancier place rather than a take away where you pack your own plate, but I could have done without seeing her pick up some of the food and meat with her bare hands to put in the box. I would have really rather packed my own take away box.

Even still, it hit the "Thai" spot that I was craving, but still disappointing. Having said that, I am used to some very good food, so this may be excellent for the area,...

Was upsold from the lunch special to regular size. Hahaha. What a joke. Its not a special if its actually a small size is it? Anyway the more expensive regular size turned up and it was pretty small anyway. So... to start off with the lunch special is a con. I ordered pad ke mau which is one of my favourite dishes. Ordered with menulog last night. After looking at the reviews, I thought this restaurant is reliable. After received the food, I got a call from the restaurant and told me i have to pay the delivery guy extra!! I didn’t know there’s such a hidden cost where I have already paid what I have asked to pay on the website included the extra delivery fee!
