Overpriced, slow and basic meals.

We went in for a Sunday breakfast and found this place on google with great reviews. The vibe of this cafe was nice upon entering and the barista was friendly as he welcomed us at the counter.

We ordered our meals at the counter and I had to repeat my order a couple of times - this was fine. We ordered 1x smashed avo + halloumi, 1x bacon and egg roll with hash brown and halloumi and 2 small coffees. Our bill came to $63 with a 10% surcharge (very unnecessary for the service and food we got). The halloumi was $6.5 each!

We waited 25-30 minutes for our meals and we’re disappointed as soon as we got them. First, we got our coffees, which tasted like it had been sitting there for 5 mins, it was luke warm, not hot and we finished this before the food came out. The bacon and egg roll was a muffin, which was extremely oily), the halloumi tasted deep fried and tasted like the oil used to fry chips, the poached egg was over cooked and the toast was soggy.

We were hoping to have a beautiful Sunday brunch which left us extremely disappointed. We were definitely ripped off for what we ordered and the service we received. We will not be coming back. Overpriced, slow service and very basic meals I could’ve went to the shops and cooked this myself but we came for convenience and it...

We felt like having a lazy sunny Sunday brunch so we thought we'd try somewhere new - The Shop. A little corner cafe with a little bit of a vintage vibe.

A sweet craving led me to the buttermilk pancakes with banana, berries, maple syrup and ice cream.

My better half chose the bacon and egg roll. We added a couple of coffees, they added a 10% Sunday surcharge. A lazy almost $50 in total.

Given the premium pricing, we expected a little something extra from our meals but were left disappointed. My pancakes were flat, dense, dry, lacked flavour and (we suspected) buttermilk. The unhulled strawberry halves and the blueberries were neatly arranged in a border on the top pancake. In between the two stacked pancakes I found a few small slices of banana and sliced strawberries. Our suspicion that the maple syrup was actually 'maple-flavoured' was confirmed by our server. Definitely not worthy of the $23 (surcharge included) price tag. The bacon and egg roll was as described. Bacon, egg, small bread roll. Again, not worth the price.

Rising costs are everywhere but we've had better, more generous food and hospitality elsewhere so unfortunately we can't give our brunch a...

Absolutely LOVE this place, hands down one of the best local cafes around! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like an old friend. The staff are incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to be there, which just adds to the whole vibe.

The service? Impeccable. Quick without ever feeling rushed, and always served with a smile. They remember your name, your coffee order, and somehow manage to make every visit feel like a little pick-me-up.

Whether it’s a caffeine hit, a full breakfast, a quick snack, or one of their freshly baked treats, everything is consistently top quality.

It’s no surprise this place is so well-loved by locals. A community favourite. The kind of café people rave about to their friends and go out of their way to visit.

So if you’re after average food, grumpy service, or bland coffee? Go somewhere else. This place is for people who appreciate great vibes, great food, and...

UPDATED* $2 extra for alternative milks!?! Unfortunately we won't be able to return for our morning coffee now that there has been a significant price increase directly impacting those who cannot/will not drink cow milk. If this is revoked we would be back in a heartbeat, but for now it's time to go elsewhere. Will definitely miss those delicious veggie wraps but $52 for two coffees and two wraps is more than we can afford. ***** Lovely and very busy cafe in Picnic Point. The veggie wrap and the baked goods are a must try. What makes this place special is the wonderful staff who are always so friendly and really make you feel welcome to be there.
