I don’t usually rate this way and I don’t usually walk out of restaurants but this was a situation I couldn’t ignore.
Firstly, I was very optimistic driving to this restaurant because I came there as a child and it held a very lovely memory for me. However that was quickly tarnished by the experience I had today.
All was well, we sat down and were given our menu. We chose what we wanted and waited, and waited and waited. I had to ask if we could order, that was strike 1.
We ordered 2 entrees and 2 mains. Naturally the entrees would come out first, 40 minutes later and there were no entrees, strike 2. had a very distressed toddler with me who was very hungry, which only added to the frustration of waiting 40 mins.
I asked where the entrees were, and the girl who I asked went to check and never came back to give me an update.
Waited some more, I went to the front to ask about the 2 pizzas, only to be told they hadn’t made any of them yet. Strike 3.
We decided to leave. I understand all the 5 star reviews say that their pizzas are amazing, however there are many places with amazing pizzas that will give better service and appreciate their customers enough to provide a quality experience.
I will never come back here and forever the memory I have is tarnished and I feel upset that I couldn’t share that experience and memory with my daughter.
I would also like to add that we paid for the 3 drinks that we ordered and were charged $19.50 for 3 drinks. Non were alcoholic, 2 soft drinks and 1 apple juice.
The lady at the front made it clear that we inconvenienced them by leaving, however the inconvenience was on us. Who takes almost an hour to make a margarita pizza and calamari? It’s unacceptable and I hope they read this review and know that they need to make changes to secure people. Having good pizzas isn’t enough and reviews can destroy a business.
Please work on the experience that you give to the people who pay to keep your business operational. It’s not...
Read moreIf the smell of the woodsmoke from the genuine brick pizza oven as you approach Totos hasn’t already enticed you, then the smell of the best pizzas you will ever eat as you are pleasantly greeted as you enter the door certainly will.
The ambience of Vinnie’s multigenerational family suburban “old-school” Italian restaurant is comfortable, cosy and quaint.
But why are the pizzas so amazing tasty? I think it is in large part due to the leavened dough which is handmade on the premises. Not to mention the exceptional range of fillings many of which are freshly prepared in the kitchen for each individual pizza.
There are many pizzas listed on the menu including some quite creative ones too, however you can also order your own custom designed pizza and we have discovered a few secret pizzas that are not on the menu.
One of our favourite’s, a Stewie special which is garlic based, with smoked salmon, gorgonzola, avocado, spainish onion and topped with melted mozzarella is to die for. The Binder special which includes lots of garlic, chilli and prawns is extraordinary.
However, if you don’t feel like pizza there is a very wide range of really delicious pasta dishes. The marinara with fettuccini pasta which includes fresh mussels in the shell and whole king prawns is a personal fave, and I also love the whole pan seared snapper with veggies and salad.
Pricing, especially considering how good the food is, is very reasonable indeed.
Definitely deserves a 5...
Read moreI have been here a few times over the years, The reputation used to be fantastic, but they have slipped a bit I believe under new management. Service is friendly enough but given there were only a dozen patrons in the place, service was desperately slow. We had to nudge them along more than once. And those delicious pizzas are still made in very authentic manner and have a flavour to prove it but seriously, to have, for example, capsicum on a pizza usually requires more than roughly one small slice of capsicum per slice of pizza. I was expecting a pizza with considerable topping but got a margarita with a very light dusting of topping samples. Not even enough to raise the pizza higher than a margarita. My entree was octopus which can be a bit chewy but this was truly ridiculous. I have empathy for the struggles of small food business but if a dish is too difficult to do properly, leave it off the menu rather than overcharge for a sub standard dish. Knowing how this place used to be, this was a very disappointing experience. I may try them again in the hope they have improved but it won't be for a...
