Came across this shop situated right in corner and fragrance of that food was buzzing. Decide to place order there... Friendly staff and good service...Very competitive pricing and we ordered following :
Pad kra pow : this is the staple of Thai cuisine, and as simple as it is with using the fewest ingredients, chances of getting it wrong is extremely less but I guess the chefs just tried shortcuts. Chicken is generally minced and basil leaves are used more to give it strong taste and majority of times it is served with egg but in this one instead of using minced chicken, they used chicken thin cut long strips which doesn't enhances the taste of the diah and to be fair basil leaves wasn't that much and egg was missing, which still is fair but how can they just use shortcuts. I have traveled extensively in thailand and know this bit for sure, hence this dish is not recommended unless they get the basic right.
Pad Prik With seafood : beautiful dish with calamari and other seafood, cooked well and tasted even better, loved it, spicy level medium had me going but the taste really made me unstoppable...so good, highly recommended.
Penang Curry : Beautiful curry with bang on taste, the consistency of the curry was smashing, just balanced taste with coconut milk and other spices, tasted delicious and we we had tht with vegetables and tofu and boy I never thought it can be so good, well done for that and presentation for the curry is perfect.
All in all, the place has good thai vibe with friendly service and for office staff it's good to satisfy the taste buds but would appreciate more if they can get the...
Read moreI am searching Sydney for the best Pad Kee Mao. Wallabies Thai is currently in the lead.
The noodles are soft (not frozen) when cooked and charred nicely. The saucy is slippery, sweet and spicy as it should be with distinct tones of garlic, soy sauce and basil. Greens are well-cooked. All the ingredients are perfectly balanced. There is a generous amount of chicken pieces (yet to try the seafood variation), a whole heap of onions and dose of fresh chilli that's not too overwhelming unlike other places. Everything on the plate is delicious and edible; you can lick it clean. Price is standard from $20.
Quick service. Order at the counter. Free water. Beautiful singing of the wok in the background so you know the wok hei is real. Interior is clean and presentable. Very close to Mascot Station. Free parking at Woolworths. Opens till late, which is awesome for late-night cravings. Definitely will be coming back!...

Wallabies Thai has shown to be absolutely consistent in the quality of their food, and the boss lady will eventually remember you, and you will be taken care of. They have not missed a single step over the 3(?) years I've come here. Long live Wallabies Thai.

ORIGINAL REVIEW
For context, this review is from the perspective of dinner service.
For the money paid, the food is quite nice and fairly proportioned. A couple of the dishes taste the same, likely due to a shared sauce/stock used, but otherwise the menu is fairly varied, and doesn't fall too short in any place. One exception is some of the beef dishes, since they slice the beef so thin, the meat tends to be overcooked, but this is offset by mostly spot-on seasoning.
Worth visiting if you're looking for a...
