Maybe I went on the wrong day, but this was overall disappointing. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday morning. The waitress pointed vaguely at a 2 seat and a four seater. We were two people, so we took the two seater. Later it was suggested that we move to another 4 seat table. We had to wave the waiter over to take our order. What would you expect him to say? Hello? Good morning? Nope "Yes?" Was the greeting. Shortly after taking our order he returned and provided us some plates for sharing. Both were dirty. We had to ask for table water, which is also weird. The first dish arrived. It was the salmon carpaccio. Well that's what it was called on the menu. What we got though was thick steaks of salmon in a mild sauce. The thickness of the salmon was odd and unpleasant. It was like chewing rubbery salmon. Not delicate at all. The duck spring rolls arrived next. To our disappointment, the filling was paste like and also tasteless. Was that pureed duck? Some bean or vegetable? I had no idea. The waiter came over and saw our empty salmon bowl (well, it has a bit of the sauce left in it I guess) and he did that thing that inexperienced wait staff do. Yep he asked, are you finished with that bowl. My tip is to just take charge and say, let me take that empty bowl for you. Much better approach The first main arrived. It was the chicken teriyaki sandwich with chips. This was passable, but the chicken lacked any seasoning. Not sure what teriyaki sauce was used or if it was forgotten. Next was the wagu burger, which again was passable. Probably the best dish that we tasted, but not an amazing burger by any means. In any restaurant the diner will be looking at the staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the taste of the food. I've been to restaurants where two of the three are good, and you can accept that. But when staff are not great waiters, the food is average, and plates are dirty... It's just disappointing. As I said, maybe we were just unlucky, but we won't be rushing...
Read moreGood evening,
I’m writing to share my brilliant experience with a particularly efficient and polite staff member at your Mascot restaurant.
I’ve dined at Anita’s Fusion nearly a dozen times now and I have the same high-level service experience each and every time. This email is written in an attempt to express to management that your female employee, “Hayley” is unique across all the restaurants, cafes and in fact every retail outlet I’ve visited in my many years.
Friendly, disciplined, extremely focussed, customer oriented and always attentive. I was highly impressed when after 3 seperate visits Hayley was able to simply interpret my requests and deliver precisely what I wanted without needing me to go into detail. After a hard day at work, that’s what I need from a relaxed restaurant environment.
In contrast to some other staff who leave all the work to Hayley and stay on their mobile phone. Hayley accommodates customers, delivery drivers and suppliers with a warm smile and professional approach.
If Hayley could be appropriately rewarded, it would be with a promotion to a management position. I think her ability to impress me & manage other restaurant stakeholders is easily enough to warrant it. I’ve seen far less capable people in Hospitality Management roles in the city. With her continuing traits, Hayley’s career will be very successful and it would be unfortunate if she was denied the opportunity to improve the operation Anita’s Fusion as her...
Read moreService was quick and friendly. There was a short wait for the food, but everything came out freshly made, hot, and nicely presented.
We ordered the Wagyu Curry Rice Bowl, an Iced Latte, and Steak with Chips and Salad.
The Wagyu Curry Rice Bowl was enjoyable the beef was tender and soft, and the carrots and mushrooms were full of flavour. The pickles had a slightly unusual taste, but it added a different kind of kick that wasn’t unpleasant. The curry sauce paired nicely with the rice and tied the dish together well.
The Iced Latte was decent, though a bit on the bitter side for our taste.
For the Steak with Chips and Salad, we requested medium but received it well done. However, the chips, salad, and mushroom sauce were all very good. When we mentioned the issue, the staff were extremely professional and accommodating Thu, in particular, offered to either remake the steak or provide a refund, which we really appreciated. His attitude and the team’s customer service left a very positive impression.
Overall, Anita’s Fusion offers good quality food, fresh preparation, and excellent service. With a little more attention to cooking accuracy and coffee balance, it could be an even better...
