Shop: West Pymble Bakery, West Pymble 2073 Filling Amount: 4/5 Bread: Traditional crispy crust Price: $7 Taste: 4/5 Total: 4/5 Tucked away in the secluded Philip Mall shopping village, this tiny bakery is a hidden gem. The $7 Vietnamese pork roll is made with a traditional crusty bread roll and comes with a generous amounts of pate and mayo, as well as two kinds of sliced pork ham and some chopped up pork belly. The salad ingredients included plenty of coriander, a stick of cucumber, some thinly sliced shallot, grated and pickled carrots and a bit of finely sliced white onion. It was a good looking banh mi, well packed with filling and in good proportions. Taste was good. Although there was lots of pate and mayo (compared to some of the stingy shops), there was also plenty of other fillings too so it was still balanced. Not too rich. Pretty happy with this banh mi. In this area, I’d recommend this bakery over Fox Bakehouse in nearby Wahroonga. I’ll be back next time to try the $9 roast pork.

Crispy pork roll was decent. Portion size was good, bread was fresh enough, and had enough crispy pork skin inside to make it enjoyable. I’d definitely go back for it. The only downside to this place is that they don’t do pork rolls on a Sunday. Would be good if they had a website that could notify customers of this, but I’m not gonna deduct a star for that as they are small time and the overall experience was good.

Really delicious banh mi and lovely people! The lemongrass chicken is my favourite - definitely worth a visit

The ladies that run the place have no idea about customer service - if you should ever hear them say a friendly 'hello' or a 'thank you' after a transaction - feel blessed as it just does not happen!!

Genuinely given this bakery 3+ tries now to see if food & service would improve, or if I could find a miracle and see anyone smile - nope it's a miserable experience.

I feel they may hate their job, maybe retirement would be a good idea.

Food : The treats are often not as fresh as one would expect from a bakery, and can be a little stale with the taste peculiar at times, the bread is average does not last long at home before stale.

People tend to come here for the ease of a 'quick' Banh mi roll as not many quick options at this mall. It's overpriced for what it is.

Majority of locals advise me to bypass this place and head for Gordon as this bakery is overpriced for what you get.

They always SEEK cash from you, and hate to see the card coming out which is strange - and no tax inv given...

What a mistake trying this bakery. It’s not the service that’s the problem, actually it was rather good. It’s their products. Worst Vanilla Slice I’ve ever bought. Custard lacked any hint of vanilla, icing had triple the sugar content it needs & the pasty, well let’s just say it flat & heavy. And their pies 😱 Potato pie had what looked like watery porridge in it & something crunchy. Curry pie was better but not good enough to buy again. You’ll do better at a servo than here. My...
