Wests Ashfield - New Shanghai Night — Restaurant in Sydney

I really hate leaving bad reviews but this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had and management needs to take urgent action to improve their menu. The venue looks beautiful and is furnished nicely however the food is just bad, not one of my 10 family members who I dined here with enjoyed their meal. We ordered satay chicken, Mongolian lamb, wonton noodle soup, fried pork chop, combination chow mein, dumplings and spring rolls. I was hoping that the poor reviews were not reflective of the experience, but it was.

The food is below what I would expect at a cheap food court. There is no table service. They were rearranging tables by noisily dragging along the floor and making a lot of unnecessary noise in the process. The food is overpriced for what it is (25-30 dollars per person for mediocre tasting food). The price that was listed on the written menu did not reflect what I was actually charged when I ordered (a 22 dollar food item was charged as 24 dollars).

Was able to order some dishes from Wok On while dining at the Garden. What a waste of money. Lucky we only ordered a soup. It made 2 minute noodles taste gourmet. It was lukewarm to start with, but the broth was very lite, bland stock to say the least. Noodles were not much better, rubbery and tasteless. The venue has so much potential but I can understand now why patronage has gone down. The Garden was not that much better with hit and miss dishes. Anything with seafood was overcooked and rubbery.
