I bought an ex display brand new high end coffee machine from withams in April 23. From day one there was an issue with getting quality shots from it. I called the service guy, Steve on three separate occasions. Given I live an hour away and the size and weight off the machine, It was very hard to return. Withams agreed to have my local tech look at it, I did that but he failed to diagnose it. Then a few months later I put another coffee machine next to it and noticed the water flow was restricted on the machine. The reason for this was scale build up. This scale had been there because the machine was sitting in the withams show room with water in it for more than 2 years. I have had the machine running on nothing but Britâs finest filtered water. Withams owner denied any responsibility. In fact when I asked for them to pick the machine up and fix it, The owner told me to go to fair trading as I would have no leg to stand on. Then hung up the phone. In my opinion, It would be very unwise to buy a coffee machine off withams. The Owner is very rude and unwilling to solve problems.

This is completely untrue. I am saddened to see someone in your position resort to this tactic in order to save face. You brought up fair trading first. You also are using the fact that it took 18 months to diagnose the machine had scale, As an excuse to avoid the fact that the machine had significant scale when you sold it to me. This fact is not in dispute, I called your service tech a month after purchase with the issue. You admitted to me on the phone that the scale was present at time you sold it to me. I have had an independant tech tell me it was there at the point of sale. You should offer a new machine and apologise for the problem, not try to make me out to be a liar. No returns
Poor tasting coffee.
No flavour
Bad after taste in mouth.
They were adamant there was nothing wrong with the coffee, even though the beans had no oiliness, shine, no aroma and flavourless.
Said they don't normally return and wouldn't return one 500 gram bag that was opened, only the unopened bag.
My friend said he's had great coffee from them, but also ordinary tasting coffee as well lately, and will give them only 2 more chances, and then leave if he is not satisfied.
Used to get fantastic delicious coffee, that lighted up the whole car with it's aroma.
Did male ego get in the way here? Probably.
This was an opportunity for Whitham's coffee to shine, but wowing the customer. They could have said we are very sorry and admitted it wasn't great, but didn't. They said it was okay.
I don't pay $47 for a kilo of coffee that is okay, when I can pay a lot less elsewhere for very good coffee.
I think they really should have refunded the open bag. How was I to know they sold me coffee that was poor, unless I opened it.

For the past week I have been out of coffee at home and was unable to travel to Hornsby to buy my beans from their store, so I decided to place an order online. I placed my order on Wednesday night and received a phone call on Thursday morning from Matt, their delivery driver, notifying me he was at my home with my beans! I wasnât home at the time , yet he patiently and selflessly spent about 20 minutes trying to gain access to the inside of my building in order to leave my beans in a safe location. This service was not only incredibly efficient, but also unheard of when it comes to online orders and deliveries.
