Zambrero Box Hill — Restaurant in Sydney

I went to Zambrero on Thursday to grab some dinner and was running a little late. I knew I might have been pushing it by arriving within the last 10 minutes before they were due to close at 9pm, but the guy and the girl on shift that night were both more than happy to take my order. The team that night were very lovely and I can't say I agree with other reviewer comments that they are tight on portion size - the large burrito I ordered was given a perfectly reasonable supply of each ingredient and was comparable in size to a large burrito from Mad Mex. Thank you to the lovely guy and girl at Zambrero who took my order on Thursday and even when I apologised for arriving within a few minutes of close, they even said, "We don't close until 9, so it's no problem at all, we don't try to close early" - much appreciated in a time where many other stores close their doors earlier than their closing time because they just want to get home. If it weren't for the customer focused attitude of those two team members, I wouldn't have been able to get my family burritos...

I've walked past this shop a few times in the past and decided to give it a go today and wow am I glad I did! The staff I dealt with (sarah and brooke I believe) were super friendly and welcoming, having never been there before they were more than happy to talk me through recommendations (spicy beef nachos) and also had great banter with each other which made me feel very comfortable and not at all like a bother. I was concerned the food would not last the 20minute drive home but I was very pleasantly surprised- it still tasted fantastic and I'm almost disappointed I didn't eat it in the shop. Having said that there will definitely be a next time and I'm looking forward to trying more things on the menu. Great job, would love for you to open one...

Zambrero as a brand must revaulate what it actually means to service Mexican food. Went in and ordered a regular bowl Chicken itself was like pulpy texture and seems to be made for a baby, could not taste any chicken. The most spiciest salsa they have is like a sweet tomato sauce at the best. The portion of the bowl also seems to be on the smaller side. The food itself put me off the whole brand from now on. This review has got nothing to do with the staff as they were excellent and did what was asked of them but this is not even close to what should be called a...
