Blenheim Inn Hotel — Restaurant in Tasmania

Arriving off our flight tired & hungry we decided to have our meal at The Blenheim. I had eaten here several years ago and had a great meal. Pleased to say that tonight's was just as good. We were the first customers in for dinner and really prompt service from the bar. Drinks in hand (freshly made Lemon, Lime & Bitters) we ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with chips and veggies and a side order of gravy and the Surf & Turf (Medium) with Chips & Vegies. The Steak was perfectly cooked with a pot of delicious homemade creamy seafood sauce brimming with scallops & Prawns to pour over the steak. Veggies were cooked to perfection. The broccoli had a creamy sauce of cheese & herbs. The menu was varied and reasonably priced with a specials board avail also. Wish ld had room for dessert as the Pavlova sounded so good. Wonderful service, happy to take lunch order around 1.45pm Sunday arvo. Delicious roast lamb & vegetables ... rather small sized portion, 2 roast potatoes, carrot and little bit of broccoli & slowcooked, tender, melt in your mouth roast lamb with gravy, $24.00 thought a bit high for a small roast lunch, friends battered flathead, chips & leafy greens (3 pieces of flathead), $25.00 looked huge in comparison to the roast. The food came out lukewarm, my husband paid $36for a scotch fillet steak with pepper sauce , it was undercooked and full of fat and grissle, we had already prepaid for a dessert to share , advertised as a rhubarb cake with icecream ,whipped cream and pistachio praline ,we got a small round cake slightly warm on one side and icy cold ,not quite defrosted on the other with no icecream or praline !
