We booked my Grandaughters 18th surprise birthday party here for 3/5/19 and was blown away by what i can only describe as the most amazing service and outstanding food. I would like to add a big thank you to the owner Julie..i think here name was, who made us feel so welcome and went out of her way to assist us in making the party so special and unforgettable and nothing was too much trouble for her in helping us achieve the beautiful night we had. To the waitress we had for the night your service was by far the best we have experienced ever. You were just fantastic and highlighted what a perfect waiter/waitress should be. THANK YOU SO MUCH. As for the food..OMG what can I say...it was so delicious and well worth its value for the price. Surprisingly bad experience from start to finish. I ordered the fish and chips - grilled but it came out as if the batter had been simply peeled off at the end of heating, no cooked outer appeal at all. The aioli tasted of jarred minced garlic only and I had to ask for alternate less pungent sauce to accompany the very bland fish. The bruschetta was frozen garlic bread topped with on the turn topping - I could tell because the stretchy fibres throughout it indicated it had gone bad. My husband’s chicken and prawns was equally lacklustre. We were chased out right on closing time (8pm) by an over eager waiter who turned the lights off in the washroom while I was still in there. We were staying nearby and asked our hosts where we should go for a good but not expensive meal. They suggested The Jetty and we were not disappointed. Whilst our hosts love the steak at Jetty, we were in the mood for seafood so I had the seafood platter and my wife had the pasta special with prawns and bacon. She said it was the best creamy pasta that she has ever had and if we were staying longer would have ordered it again tomorrow. My platter was delicious and they allowed me to make a substitution. I had fish, calamari, prawns and scallops in garlic sauce, smoked salmon, chips and some green leaves. Everything was delish and the chips were crispy to the last. Salad was boring but...
