Thai@Dunes Restaurant — Restaurant in Torquay

We had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at this venue, despite its reputation for great Thai food. From the start, the service was dismal, with wait staff appearing uninterested and inattentive. The arrival of our meals was chaotic and frustrating: for a table of six, dishes were brought out two at a time, spanning over an hour. The first two meals arrived, followed by another two 20 minutes later, and the final dish came a full 25 minutes after that.

The food itself was equally underwhelming. The crispy chicken wasn’t crispy, the calamari was overly chewy and mostly batter, and the Thai noodles were inexplicably sparse on noodles. To make matters worse, some of the dishes served were incorrect due to the wait staff being unable to read their own notes.

To top it all off, the bill was a shocking mess—overcharged by nearly $80 on what should have been a $200 total. It was an appalling experience from start to finish, and sadly, we cannot recommend this...

We ordered food last night online on the restaurants website, we ordered early and were given an option to request a delivery time. Our delivery window came and went, we waited approximately 45 minutes and then I tried to call the restaurant. I called about 5 times and no one answered.

After 1 hour I drove up to the restaurant, and eventually they located my order. I advised them I understand sometimes it’s busy but it would have been nice to at least answer the phone for an update.

Once I got home, we realised our order was missing tofu and extra beef that we had paid for and ordered. We were also very disappointed in the taste of the food.

We live very close, sadly we won’t be returning and I can’t recommend this restaurant due to a very bad service experience and...

Massive wait times and contaminated food.

I contacted the restaurant personally but two emails where ignored so had to share this experience so people know what to expect when ordering here.

The 30 minute pick up time blew out to actually 1 and half hours so spent and hour sitting in the parking lot. Prettty annoying, but whatever. The food when we get it home is lucky to fill half the container, ok frustrated now. Start eating and find a massive hair in my meal. Two hour ordeal and I was eating two minute noodles for dinner great!

I kindly emailed them to let them know and requested a refund…. Crickets.
