Went for lunch, service was good and fast. Changmai is BYO which is great. Crispy squid tentacles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning. The Drunken noodles, we had with pork, these were absolutely beautiful and you could taste the smokiness from the wok. Crying tiger is one of those dishes I have seen many different interpretations of, and Changmai's is definitely in the top, and the dipping sauce they should bottle it, it is fantastic and complex. The beef massaman was the most subtle massaman I have had, and it was fantastic, the subtleties of the spices in the sauce, made the peanut and coconut shine through, I honestly believe this is how a massaman should be. All good today was fabulous, and will definitely be back.

As a Thai food connoisseur myself, I’d like to say that this is the best Thai food I’ve had in Cairns. It is very highly rated amongst my group of food influencers friends. I have tried almost half of the dishes on their menu and I really can’t pick a favourite because they all slap so damn hard!! But if you really can’t pick I’d recommend the crying tiger. The tenderness of the meat combined with the complexity of the sauce goes so hard!!!!! It definitely stands up and even beats popular Thai restaurants in Brisbane Gold Coast and Melbourne. If this restaurant ever closes I don’t see a point in coming back to cairns again.

Hands down the best thai food I have had in a long time! Would recommend this place. We got the pad thai chicken and the Khao Soi Gai Or chicken (which tasted similar to laksa without the seafood taste + slightly sweeter). It is also BYO. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely shocked with our order and the experience with the manager. We chose to order online today. The satay chicken skewers were $15.90 even though their menu says $9.90 (60% markup) for cold tiny barely a mouthful of chicken pieces. The main meals were $24.90 even though their menu says $19.0 (25% mark up) when ordered with chicken. PLUS A DELIVERY FEE. I wasn’t going to complain. The icing on the cake being the meals were dismal. The red curry was a soup at best. The cashew chicken is a very loose description for how much meat actually came with the order. When we contacted them directly we were told some meals have more and some have less. As though we were just “unlucky”. Currently pursuing a...
