KFC Tumut — Restaurant in Tumut

Came in on Saturday the the 7th of June at 4.10pm roughly. Ordered large chips. Male worker with dark hair served me, gave me cold chips which I checked by placing a few fingers into the box to feel the warmth. Told the worker if I could get fresh chips which I was happy to wait for. He took the cold chips and poured them back into the chip dump. Which the manager will be able to check on CCTV. Apart from the fact they are cold, they are now cross contaminated as I felt the chips to make sure they were hot first.

Standard food safety practices were not adhered to in this instance. Did the manager not teach the staff to put any returned food into the bin? Extremely disgusting to put the food back in the chip dump right in front of me. The worker brought me the fresh chips which also were filled up halfway, by the time I got home I didn’t want to drive back to have the order rectified, as I was put off by the fact the male worker put cold chips into the chip dump. When I told the worker you should have placed them in the bin he didn’t seem bothered. I’ve worked in fast food for over 5 years and also went by the rule of thumb: if I wouldn’t eat what I’ve served, I wouldn’t serve it or start the order again. Perhaps a retraining...

We came to Tumut to celebrate the Falling Festival and were excited to try KFC. The seating area was nice. However, what followed was one of the worst experiences we've ever had in Australia.

We were treated with clear disrespect, unlike any treatment we've received in all our time in Australia. While other customers were welcomed, had their orders taken and served promptly, we were made to wait with no explanation or acknowledgment. It felt as if we were invisible.

What hurt the most was that the only noticeable difference between us and the other customers was our skin colour. The staff member at the cashier, a young man with a mullet, showed no courtesy or basic respect. It was disheartening to feel mistreated simply because we look different.

We are human, just like everyone else. No one deserves to be treated as less. Unless you've been in our shoes, you won’t understand the deep sadness such experiences bring.

I'm never going there again Had to wait 30minutes for more chicken to be cooked which is fair enough. When got the order asked if could have fresh chips and the girl said "they were only just boxed up and put in the warmer with the chicken". Found they were Lukewarm. Would've been the chips sitting there for 30minutes waiting. Went back and asked for fresh chips and not to be mixed with all the old chips in the tray. She threw the fresh ones in with the old ones. Returned the whole lot for a refund as didn't want food poisoning. Also realised the whole place looked like it hadn't had a decent clean in...
