Customer service from blonde South African that took the order.... zero! Actually disgusting The other staff appeared friendly and wanted to be there. We were unfortunate enough to have an extremely racist, self centred family sit at the next table. It seemed they were cut from the same cloth as the other person that took our order. It was hot so the umbrella was up and they just dragged it to cover themselves (my husband is coloured) so obviously assumed we didn't need it, looked down their noses at us and just made the whole experience disgusting, more so because the other thing was kind and caring towards them it even cracked a smile! First time in my life I have experience clear racism pretty sad to say the least! I am not a review leaver but this experience will not leave me, could have been different if she stayed home instead of taking our order...

As prompted by a friendly and constructive message from the owner, here's a more detailed review. I found the sweet treats to be of good quality and priced accordingly. My daughter fell in love with the chocolate brownie and I had to battle for the small taste I got and I have to agree with her. I found the coffee a little inconsistent though. I'm a self confessed coffee snob, so this is the benchmark for me concerning places such as this. The staff are friendly and welcoming which is another big thing for me. The only other thing is feeling rather conspicuous whilst waiting for takeaway. It's a small service area, so I found myself standing close to another patrons tables to keep the thoroughfare clear as I waited. Visiting Tumut for business, I was unsure of what my breakfast options would be. My first step was to drive around at 8am and see what was open, and there were a couple of options, HOWEVER, The Coffee Pedaler was packed full (always a good sign) so called in. Immediately, the service was great and even the customers nodded a greeting my way. The food in the window looked great, and the coffee smelt divine. I picked up a Bacon and Egg roll (with so much bacon!!!) and a Flat white, with both arriving within minutes.
