The guy who runs this place is an absolute legend! The fish and chips I got from him last night were absolutely delicious. But talk about service I had literally crashed on my scooter five minutes before hand and I had a massive scrape on my arm which he let me wash off in his hand basin and then proceeded to get a medical kit and took five minutes out of his time to patch me up in the middle of a busy Monday night service. Couldn’t have asked for better customer service anywhere ever! Made my whole day! Kindness costs nothing but is absolutely priceless! Phone order taken politely, info on no EFTPOS was given over the phone, so no surprise when I got there. I was told 10 mins, I got there in 10mins and order was just finished. In store, staff where friendly and all had smiles. Store was clean and tidy. I was pleased to find them open on a monday. Chicken filet burger was really nice, Chips where brilliant, golden and perfectly cooked.

The only downside was the flake, It was sliced about 1/2 the thickness of other shops, as a result when cooked it was dry and rubbery.

We visited from Melbourne on a bit of a rural road trip and dropped in to Arch for lunch. The lovely owner told us they had been there for 51 years and if you last that long you must be doing something right! This is an old school place, no fussing with fancy aioli’s and brioche. Just good old fish and chips perfectly cooked. You can tell a good fish and chips by the oil change and this was super fresh and didn’t leave you feeling heavy afterwards - good sign!
