This is an excellent, clean, hospitable and top Victorian business and I definitely recommend and encourage travellers to experience this restaurant. As for my experience there were some glitches which I’m sure are easily managed to avoid in the future. The attendant kindly apologised because their printer got mixed up and they forgot my order so I received the lamb ribs and pork boa 50 minutes later. I hadn’t booked a table so when I arrived I was instructed to sit on the bar bench which was not comfortable. I asked if tables were available and there wasn’t any. I recommend booking before visiting. The sparking apple juice had a funny taste I wasn’t able to finish it but the cocktails I saw customers had ordered looked amazing. The bao and lamb ribs were excellent, fresh and perfectly cooked and served. The vibe and atmosphere and the prices are all within the value range. Cassava chips are pre-made and is served below the room temperature. So will definitely visit again but won’t try cold...

Hi Lovelies & Lads, I would like to highly recommend The Bird Rock Cafe in Jan Juc for everything about this fabulous venue. Firstly, Ollie (with whom I dealt with by phone when I initially made my booking). Ollie was helpful, obliging, accomodating with my group, the Torquay Boogy Boarders as we had a booking of 14 with nothing too much trouble. We attended Bird Rock last Thursday 31st July for drinks, dinner together followed by the fun-as Bingo night. We all had such a great night. The food was so so good; couldn’t fault the service provided by each and every Bird Rock staff member, even the friendly young lady who continually cleared our tables (x2) of all the empty glasses & jugs. 🙏…..your customer service certainly didn’t go unnoticed. So much so, that we, the Torquay Boogy Boarders will be back for another fun Social night with Bingo thrown in on Thursday 9th October….. Looking forward to our return. Cheers Marcia...

Popped in at the end of a Great Ocean Road stint for dinner with my family as a walk in. We were accommodated quickly and served drinks fast. The cocktails were refreshing. Pacing of the food was nice and I was so relieved that our kids meals came out first. I can’t fault a single dish as they were all perfectly balanced and cooked well. The Asian fusion vibes are strong, not only in the food but in their choice of decor for the restaurant. The atmosphere was great, as there was adequate spacing around the tables and we were able to carry a conversation without music or tables next to us being overly loud. We were accommodated so well with a highchair and space to park a pram as we had three children with us. Toilets were clean and available down a set of stairs. Parking available on street, some timed and some untimed. Thank you to the beautiful staff who made our last stop of the...

The food was delicious however the service was less ideal. It’s hard to judge as they seemed extremely busy when we first arrived, but they didn’t properly clean the table after others left before seating us, one of us had to go in and ask if we could order after a while of waiting for someone to attend to our table and it was extremely hard to get anyone’s attention the entire time we were there. I kind of forced myself on someone at the end and she seemed really stressed, run off her feet and got me a take away container which I was very grateful for. That said, the food was really great, no complaints there! Pictured is the crispy eggplant and a rice noodle salad. We also had some delicious dumplings & pork belly bao.
