If not being for the fact the other cafes in the town didn't open until 9am, I would not have eaten here. Having run a cafe, I understand a menu asking for no changes to the menu for busy periods. At 8am when only 20% full, I am astounded at being told the chef won't add 3 extra poached eggs to the 'mushrooms, feta and 1 poached egg' menu item. The best he could do would be to suggest I buy a second meal of 2 poached eggs on toast. When I asked if he could make the second meal with 3 poached eggs on toast, they said no, that would require me to purchase a third meal of a poached egg on toast. Already the most expensive cafe I've encountered on my trip from Melbourne to Jindabyne, I find it incredible that a service based business can so easily forget they exist because of customers..... On principal, wouldnt ever attend this cafe again. Meal review itself was 6/10. Coffee was excessively hot, the one poached egg was overcooked, the toast was good, the mushrooms and...
Read moreService levels and hospitality non existent, up at Corryong for Toowong Cup weekend. Sunday breakfast after races poor reflection on this business.Whilst placing order at service counter girl with pink dyed hair very moody and obviously overworked as she was working at races the day prior in marquee. Asked about breakfast still being available told no kitchen is closed for breakfast. Within 10 minutes waiting on alternate selection on two separate occasions this girl and Manager take breakfast orders for 2 other groups. Made mention of disappointment upon requesting money back and Manager states he can only offer an apology. Definitely a vibe of judgement and needing to be in the know in this establishment. Headed to another Cafe in the main street and was treated like a valued customer. Obviously not after the tourist dollar this establishment !!!...
Read moreWow! What an absolute amazing cafe in the beautiful upper Murray town of Corryong. We had lunch here on a Saturday and we just felt so welcomed from the moment we walked in, owner was friendly and engaging and staff were all wonderful too. When we arrived it was 10 past 12 but they still let us order off the breakfast menu. Such a lovely menu selection too. My son and I both ordered the chilli scrambled eggs and they were freaking amazing! The missus had a bacon egg and cheese toasted chibatta roll and she was very happy too, my second son had the toasted sandwich. Loved the decor in the cafe and they do have toilets available for their customers which not many cafes have. Overall a fantastic brunch experience, can not recommend these guys more highly. 6...
