It has taken me a while to consider posting my review of Blackbird as it is negative and I didn’t actually get a chance to even try the coffee or food. On the 24/11/24 my mother and I came to this cafe and were treated very rudely by a man that had tattoos and I believe a moustache. When my mother asked if there were amenities at this cafe the waiter said “why do you want to read the menu on the toilet?”, I have a medical issue that requires me to need access to a bathroom. I was disheartened and felt that he was rude however I was eager to still try a coffee here and enjoy breakfast, my mother and I then sat at a table inside and he said “there’s only two of you”, we were simply sitting at a table for 4 and there were other tables available if larger parties were still to enter the cafe. We both found his demeanour to be extremely rude, I work in hospitality and understand sometimes customers can be annoying or that he may have been having a bad day but I would never treat anyone how he treated us. Unfortunately after he was rude the second time, we both decided to walk out and find somewhere else to have breakfast. It has really left a sour taste in my mouth and was an awful experience. I am eating the food as 1 star simply because the service was so rude that we didn’t even feel comfortable enough to...

Had a very thick Rueben sandwich with oozing cheese and a good wedge of pastrami with some pickles on the side.
Partner had the burger with lots of chips (did think for the price the Rueben could have had a handful of chips as well or a small potato salad- that would be my only criticism given the sandwich was $16 and the burger seemed to have more and was only $18). Also had refreshing Iced Lattes. But I’ll certainly be returning. Enjoyed...
Read moreJust arrived in town, followed reviews to have lunch here. I had coffee, juice and brisket burger on Thursday lunch. Service was friendly enough, although 'lots of staff kinda there but not there', not engaging, just a job! seating outfront seemed very uncomfortable because of uneven surface or chairs/ table combo. Not sure?. Anyways, coffee was good, the burger although tasty, was cold wet and soggy and seemed like was slapped together hours earlier. Heaps of fries, no offer of sauce etc (there but not there!). For the quality, the burger, the food was over priced! For an engaging town, this was not engaging. ...
