New China Restaurant — Restaurant in Victoria

The best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten before. The environment was just mesmerising. I would come here everyday if I could but I live in Melbourne and was heading back from SA. I highly recommend this place as it is 100% worth the visit. Every dish we ordered was just a banger. I couldn’t fault a thing and everything was a display of Chinese food at its apex. If u pass by Castlemaine and don’t go here you’re missing out. The staff were so friendly. They even brought the chef out to recommend us their specialty dishes. Also I didn’t mention, the speed of the food was unmatched. Even McDonald’s couldn’t beat their agility. We ended up taking longer to order than the food coming😂. A couple of things. Firstly we ordered takeaway from their online menu. It was a large order. Using the prices of their online menu, it added up to some $75.00 However on pick up, the price was well over $110.00. When we queried the amount, we were told. "Oh that's old menu prices." That was a huge difference and perhaps management should fix their online prices to reflect current prices. Secondly, I am a huge fan of Beef Rendang. The meat should just melt in your mouth. When done well, it is a magnificent dish. This one wasn't. The meat was tough and too chewy to eat easily. It was extremely disappointing. Drove 45 minutes and due to recent dental work asked for our shared food to have the veggies cooked soft which is what they have done in the past without issue Food arrived and the veggies in no way soft at all I raised the issue immediately and was told sorry and that was it We ate what we could of the meals and left 3/4 of 2 plates due to not being able to chew the veggies and went to pay. They had no issues charging full price and when I questioned why should I be charged full price when I specifically asked for something I did not receive I was told that they run a business and have to survive.
