So appalled at the way we were treated. Ordered lunch and sat down at table as the norm. After we had started eating and she brought our coffees to us, she told us to make sure we pay before leaving as people sometimes walk out and don’t pay, very offended, of course we intended on paying. Husband went and paid once finished meal and we finished our cuppas. Room full of customers and as we were leaving the same waitress yelled out that we hadn’t paid (so embarrassing). Advised her we had paid and to which counter staff we paid it to, she still argued that we hadn’t t paid. The person that we paid to had left. This so unprofessional and degrading. We were passing through, and bought 4 pies between us. There wasn't a lot of range available at the time so we bought what was available and waited 20 min for more pies to come. The pastry on the pies was excellent and the size of the pies was bigger than usual. However the filling for each pie we had to eat with a spoon. Unfortunately it was too runny and was impossible to be eaten by hand which was disappointing.

Edit after owner review: As stated we bought 4 pies in total. 2 of which were available upon arriving. There were no others to buy after this. This place is THE bakery in Meeniyan. Don't be fooled by the other side of the street. Honestly the best ham and salad roll I've had in my life. Real thick ham, shredded carrots, lettuce, cucumber, red onion in a soft roll in glad wrap so it travels really well. Obviously made by someone who knows how to make a roll that doesnt stuff around!

Their pies looked deep, flaky and delicious too and the coffee rivals anywhere in Melbourne.

Apparently the business is for sale as well so get in quick!

Bakeries like this are getting harder to find and are a true local gem worth experiencing.
