Eaglehawk Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

We love this bakery. The chocolate mousse cake is BEAUTIFUL & you would struggle to make it for the price of a full sized cake. It is my families favourite special occasion cake. The staff are happy, friendly, competent & well trained. The lady owner is amazing & her partner- head baker very talented. They have WON many awards & I dont doubt will achieve many more. I love taking my 13 yr old here for a yummy lunch or coffee (me) & hot chocolate (for her) & cake. A luxury we cant often afford but when budget allows its our ONLY choice in Eaglehawk. The other great pleasure for me is to treat my 2 & 1/2 yr old grandson his choice of cake or short-bread man biscuit & his mummy- my elder daughter to lunch. The smiles & his enjoyment of this is priceless to me. Well done to the very hard working bakers & counter staff on exceptional service & friendly character. There are also clean toilets- wheelchair & baby change facilities much safer & hygenic than any public facilities in Eaglehawk let alone Bendigo. My little family of 2 daughters-(local) & chef son-in-law & the cutest grandson ever will continue to enjoy this venue whenever Pies, pasties, fresh salad rolls & yummo cakes are craved. The only request of mine is for Neenish Tarts & choc topped caramel tarts to be added to their menu. Top effort- many thanks. Note: my eldest daughter- not local now actually worked here part-time about 14 yrs ago for her first job- learnt many skills & earnt pocket money & sometimes was lucky enough to bring home some left over goodies. ...

Man has this place changed, & NOT for the better!! I used to go in & have their "big breakfast" quite a bit. The plate was massive, 2 eggs, sausages, tomato, heaps of bacon, mushrooms & baked beans all on sour dough toast! You couldn't see the plate & it was a huge effort to get through it. So you can imagine my complete & utter embarrassment when I recommended the Eaglehawk Bakery & to friends who'd come down from Qld for Christmas hollies, talked up their (EB) big breakies & all they got was 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon & a slice of tomato on normal toast, & lettuce, not even salad just lettuce with no dressing, served on a paper plate not less!! Aaaaand the price had gone UP, with 4 items less on a paper plate!!

Guys seriously, if your cook can't operate a dishwasher or fully understand what a big breakfast consists of? Then don't serve meals, stick to pies, pasties & sausage rolls in bags!!

A big breakfast anywhere in this Country, & for that matter, any other Country I've ever visited, is just that, fully loaded with bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, a hash brown & grilled tomato on toast or sour dough toast!! NEVER HAS IT EVER BEEN & NEVER WILL IT EVER BE "JUST BACON & EGGS" that is a separate menu item altogether!!

What you're doing is false advertising & ripping people...

Two of the employees were extremely rude. Messed up my order & tried to blame me than when asked to remake it they agreed & made me sit & wait for it to be remade just for them to stick the same roll back in the toaster & give it back to me. Extremely disappointed & blatant rudeness from the staff is astonishing. Had to go back in & wait for the young male there to serve me as the two rude females wouldn’t make eye contact & kept pretending they didn’t see me.
