Gaol Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Gaol Cafe located within the historic gaol in Victoria, and it was a delightful and unique experience. Here are a few highlights from my visit:

Don't know if it's a bad thing or a good thing but my brother owns the cafe and notwithstanding i can be picky just like the next customer. If something is lacking i make sure they find out .My brothers first venture into the corporate world and let me tell you talk about being thrown into the deep end without floaties (hehe) overall not only has the establishment risen above and beyond my brothers expectations but the best part is that the local community is embracing the cafe ,the gaol, the friendly service and of course the food which caters for the unique and fussy eater, but also gives the opportunity for those that like to indulge like myself to walk(roll)out of the cafe satisfied and knowing that there's money still left...

I really wanted to like this one. The setting is amazing and worth the visit. The gaol exterior is beautifully preserved and the interior is decorated with many historical photos of the site. The steak sandwich and chicken burger were tasty but weren't offering anything novel. The coffee was lacking. In my case, served far too hot. Kilmore Gaol has all of the ingredients for a placemaking eatery and with but a few tweaks could become an attraction that brings people in for the buildings history and could keep them with a great food and...
