I go here everytime I come back from my daughters in Stratford. I was extremely disappointed this time food was all served in takeaway form! Hence the pie I had and the pasties my husband and mother had were i assume microwaved so had soggy bottoms! The Devonshire tea that I rave about to everyone was not the same as it to was severed in take away containers! No teapots and beautiful light perfect scones I tell everyone it’s worth traveling for they were the best in Vic but today they were doughy nowhere near as nice! Service was not to the table! The disabled toilet had a seat not even attach (law suit waiting to happen!) over all after 20+ years of recommending this place today it fell extremely short on food, service and overall quality!!!! Also no bins for rubbish yet waitresses complained people were not cleaning tables😳we said there’s no bins so they came and slammed one down near the table! Don’t server takes away food for sit down serving you expect us to take our rubbish with us!! Normally this place is worth every cent today it was not worth it!

And who puts milk in peppermint tea🤔😳

In reply to owners comment. I’ve been there before on busy seasonal times and never been given takeaway food for dine in! I was on a mobility scooter and could not see any bins neither did my husband or mother see any bins! I saw signs but could not read them as people were standing in front of them to let me go through! Funny how you did not acknowledge the disabled side of things! The access to toilet is not great! The disconnected seat is going to be some dishonest persons law suit! I told staff and was told you knew about just couldn’t get it fixed! Don’t have disability access if you can’t provided adequate toilet access! You need to try yourself accessing it on a scooter!!! We had to open doors and guests had to get up from chairs to let me get passed you might as well not have ramp access if other obstacles are there! I’ve only just started using a scooter due to ailing health and I now see the many challenges and it’s all fair and well to have ramps so disabled people can purchase stuff but dine in needs attention too! If the pies etc were done in an oven why were they so wet on the bottom and why were...

We were initially so happy to stumble across this establishment for lunch as the food looked great, however, unfortunately their customer service wasn't on par with their food.

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 toddlers and while our group ordered their meals and drinks, I took the 2 toddlers to the bakery next door as they wanted to have party pies for lunch as this cafe didn't have any party pies available to buy.

I came back and we all sat down at a table and the kids were happily eating their party pies while we waited for our meals to arrive. Before long, a waitress approached us and told us that we couldn't bring any other food into their cafe.

I feel this was unreasonable and discretion should be used when enforcing this rule. I respect that you don't want "bakery" customers taking up your tables but we had ordered meals and drinks for 4 adults and the kids wanted something else to eat.

I had to leave the table so that my two kids could finish their lunch, outside in 35 degree heat along the public walkway.

By the time they had finished, I came back inside to a cold coffee and meal as all my family had finished eating.

We all felt that the staff were quite rude and cold which was very disappointing as we found the rest of the Yarragon strip really...

My first visit to this place . I was impressed with the menu choices, unfortunately I chose the wrong thing. Ordered Nachos, they came with no guacamole, which was listed as an inclusion in the dish. I reported this to a staff member who said she thought they had probably run out and she’d check with the kitchen. Seems reasonable. She did not go to the kitchen to check she served another customer. I then explained to another staff member the problem, who also said they had probably run out. Clearly I was considered to be an unreasonable customer. Eventually it was confirmed that they had run out of guacamole. I didn’t think was good enough, Nachos without guacamole are not nachos. Eventually I was offered some avocado, probably a dessert spoon full. If the dish cannot be delivered as advertised then it should be taken off the menu! Another person in our party ordered pumpkin soup, I didn’t think it was possible to screw this up. However, my friend described it as tasteless, basically orange water. Good thing the so called nachos were a generous serve as I could share them with her. I will not...

Update April 2024 If you are looking for a lovely scone with jam and cream, Gippsland Food & Wine have their tearooms open. These are housemade high-top scones which locals in the know sneak in for when they come out of the oven each day! Great with a pot of tea (or coffee) and loved by all generations! Weekend bookings highly recommended. Review 2023: This delightful Yarragon cafe is a local favourite, offering fresh eat-in and takeaway options. With a strong emphasis on supporting local produce, they proudly serve SWIG coffee beans, roasted and ground right in Yarragon. From hearty breakfasts to gourmet sandwiches and delectable pastries, their menu is sure to satisfy any craving. The inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make every visit a pleasurable experience. Don't miss out on this culinary gem that celebrates the best flavours of the region while supporting local businesses and farmers. Stop by for a taste of fresh, local dining at its finest.

I visited during the week whilst supporting a client with a disability and was impressed with Gippsland Food and Wine. It was extremely busy making it difficult to access the counter and see what was available, and takeaway containers only due to the holidays. The dining area was quite accessible for someone using a wheelie walker, with adequate space between the tables. The accessible bathroom was good, though the placement of the bin made it a little bit difficult for them to exit. I really enjoyed the veggie focaccia I purchased. I'd love to return again in the future when it's a little less busy to experience the usual eat-in service. Staff were all lovely to interact with. ☺️

A lovely shop filled with lots of interesting and yummy drinks and food. They have a huge range of Billsons cordials and alcohols as well as a wide range of tea tonic teas and tea related items. Lots of gourmet picnic foods, chutneys and chocolates. The shop also has a good amount of tourism pamphlets. My husband said the take away coffee is a good "country Coffee". The staff member who served me was lovely and friendly. It is clean and so were the toilets. We love stopping in here whenever we are passing through. Thankyou.
