Ironbark Fish Chips & Burgers (Formally Ironbark Tavern) — Restaurant in Victoria

I do not normally take photos of food, but this totally warranted it. My hubby & I thought we treat ourselves to dinner out after a long day on the road, we always like to pop into the local when we do. We were not expecting the A1 quality class meals served to us ( dont get me wrong, you always get a good feed at the local) BUT this was way beyond. Top notch, would knock the socks of a lot of fancy restaurants, that's for sure. So after that little long winded rave 😉 I had the Surf/ Turf Rib eye. Steak cooked to perfection meduim. So tender cut with a normal knife. Expecting only pawns as the topping and nice creamy garlic sauce which is the norm but to my amazement received mouth watering calamari cooked 2 ways with healthy serving prawns and to die for garlic sauce. Everything on the plate was yummo.Meal Serving - lets say you needed a good appetite to eat it all. 😀👍 Hubby had Rib eye with mushroom gravy. Again steak cooked to perfection. Chips to die for, the best. To top the night off great live music, great atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting to enjoy this absolute gem of pub. Publican was a great as well. Hats off to his wife who cooked our A1 class meals. Apologies we started eating before I thought to take a photo to share . We will definitely be back. A wonderful country town pub full of character and friendly staff. There is a good choice of drinks here, plus a fab menu that is either traditional Australian cuisine or Thai (phone ahead to see what's being served). My visit yielded an awesome Thai dining experience that was authentic and produced food full of robust flavours, great textures and pleasing colours; and definitely on par with other Thai restaurants I've dined at. This wasn't an interpretation, the meal I had was a very tasty iteration of Thai food. Portion sizes were on the generous side and table service was quick. The food was well priced too.
