My Partner and I went to The Ocean View Hotel for lunch today for the first time We were greeted by this great awesome lady We came through the bistro it was quite busy and then she said I will take you through to the bar which suited us better she gave us a tour by showing us where things were like the toilets outdoor where you go for a smoke a ATM a picture of the world map I thought that was funny lol the ciggy machine lol Then we got to the bar wow what great place to chill eat and have a drink!! I had the Roast of the day which was Pork Belly with roasted veges yum the crackle was so salty and yummy and my partner had the calamari which he said it was tender I did talk to Brett how I had a great experience with the waitress and the food was so yum!!! Definitely can’t wait to come back!! I recommend this place to everyone once again the staff and customer service was great!! Thank you!! See you all soon

This is our final view of Kilcunda as we hop back on the bus back to the hustle and bustle of Melbourne after a great weekend getaway. Whether on purpose or not, the Ocean View Hotel sticks out as the Crown Jewel as you first enter Kilcunda as it deservedly should. We stayed for a couple nights at an Air BnB and decided to head in for a couple pints and some lunch. The restaurant itself is a short walk from the beach. In terms of the food, unfortunately we hadn’t taken pictures of the food because we ate them just as fast as they arrived. The calamari salad, Ribs and the barramundi were fantastic and worth a second go around. Owners Paula and Brett were hospitable with and very knowledgable on what sights are worth a look. Should you ever be in or around Kilcunda I would recommend a stop in at the Ocean View Hotel for a bite and warm hospitality. Will definitely be planning another visit shortly.

Excellent friendly service and great meals! Decent portions for the prices which are about average of most pubs/hotels. Ate here on AFL Grand final day! No delays in service it was actually really quick to get the food from ordering and great atmosphere with beautiful views of the ocean, indoor and outdoor seating, pool table, pinball machine etc very family friendly! Highly reccomend;!. Ordered 2 chicken parmas and a local fresh gummy shark; the chicken parmas have a delicious amount of toppings and weren't dry or too saucy and the cheese was perfect amount with 3 slices of ham too match and are not at all on the skimpy side and actually we both had some left over as it's rely filling and took it away with us , the gummy flake was very fresh tasting and cooked perfectly, the chips have a yummy flavoured salt and both the salads and veggies were great pairings and fresh tasting.

We remember this watering hole from many years ago. It was the place to be. We were passing through and had decided to stay at the caravan park across the road. Let's go to the pub for dinner, we thought. 7pm. The greeting we got was a girl standing at the till chewing gum and adding up the dockets. "Be with you in a minute guys" .....we waited.... Shouldn't it have been a case of putting the dockets down, yes please can I help you? Next step was dinner order. While we were waiting a patron asked for knives and forks from the man at the till taking orders. "Yep" and kept taking orders. Not even bothering to get hold of another staff member or get them himself. I was next. Again..."yep?" Maybe get the knives and forks before you serve me. "Oh yeah". 2 of the meals on the specials board weren't available. Come on it was 7.20pm. Ordered. Pleased to say they came out pretty quick. We did overhear that same person say "thank f...k when he was told the kitchen was closed and proceeded to plonk himself at the bar. The table clearing was another disaster. It seems only the plates were cleared by the wait person who delivered the meals. The glasses would be done by the young gum chewing girl. Sorry. She was busy doing nothing behind the bar. We sat outside where a table of ladies had left. The plates were gone but the glasses remained. Sorry, but the standards and service arent there anymore. The other thing was. We were just lokking around the pub. We looked into a room which was a dining area. The door was open so we stuck our heads in to have a look. We were snapped at and adked what we wanted as this was a private function. Sorry. No message or signboard and the door was open. Dont be so...

Nothing pleases me more than writing a review for a great place like Killy pub (Kilcunda Ocean View Hotel). It’s been a while since we’ve visited and we had heard there were new owners. I do recall the last time we were there it was a dark dingy place with little atmosphere, the bistro and bar were separated which didn’t seem to help with any flow. Well what an amazing experience last night was! The Princess and I ventured in and although we didn’t have a booking we were able to get the last non booked table. Browsed the menu and off we went to order, met the new owners who were an amazing couple. I ordered the scotch fillet with fries and slaw and the princess went for lamb shanks with mash and veg. Meals came out quite fast and both were tasty and good size portions. Steak cooked exactly how I like (medium rare) and the princess said she wanted to lick the plate clean. Desserts were salted caramel cheesecake and a chocolate lava cake with a generous sprinkling of white chocolate and coconut around a dollop of cream. Both were phenomenal. Guinness on tap for me, CC & dry for the princess topped off a great time here. Will definitely be back for more...

My family came here today as we were at the Kilcunder Lobster festival, meals we ordered were, chicken Parma chips and salad, battered flat head fillets, chips and salad, and the kids spaghetti linguine. First of all the bar staff were attentive, and friendly especially Riley. Food came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was great! I love the new management and what they have done with the place! Our food, my son who orders a parma everywhere we go, and we eat out alot, said it was his top two parmas! The ham was smoked, perfect amount of cheese and cooked perfectly. Chicken was soft and juicy yet the crumb was nice and crispy! Best linguine we have ever had full of flavour. After telling the wait staff how impressed we were thwy said the nap sauce is home made. I could tell the difference it was full of flavour. The flatty fillets were fresh and with a beautiful light batter. The homemade tartar sauce was fresh and complemented the fish perfectly! Thanks guys we will be back! Congratulations to the new management! What...
