Kinglake Pub — Restaurant in Victoria

I’d like to thank Wirrun, Ashley and the staff for a truly memorable birthday. It was a surprise birthday in the garden and all of our 30 guests were so impressed with the quality of the food. Wirrun went above and beyond to source all the foods I love and I know he has a passion for great food and ingredients, our guest were thrilled with everything he offered. Ashley the head chef and her team are amazing, the steak and seafood were melt in your mouth. The sides were just as good, and everything complemented each other. Ashley even whipped up a beautiful gluten free cake that was incredible and came out to greet all our guests after service. Being chefs and locals ourselves we feel very fortunate to have such a great venue to visit. Well done Kinglake...

Tried the Kinglake Pub tonight after having heard new owners have taken over! Absolutely rate the new cooks the food was fresh, tasty and very filling. However..... the new owner is very unwelcoming and exceptionally rude! Asking us to tell Our kids To be quite 6 Being a family pub we booked a table for 9, 4 adults and 5 children aged 1-9. After waiting way to long for drinks to have with our meal he then approached us and very abruptly asked us to keep our kids quiet, he clearly doesn't have kids or support it as a "family restaurant" having 1 year old twins you can expect a little excitement and noise but it 100% did not warrant being told to be quiet. We left feeling very embarrassed and disappointed and will not ever...

Bar staff were quite rude, when we were trying to order drinks at the bar instead of getting table service. We wouldn’t have went to the bar if the service was better (wasn’t even busy). Menu was very small with limited options. Meals were actually pretty good, chips were some of the best I had, but other than that it was nothing to write home about… No changes to menu allowed, but you can ask for something to be removed. Fish of the day only had the option of having salad and vegetables with it, if you wanted chips you had to order separate, which I thought was a bit strange having both salad and veg with a meal… Friendlier staff, being more accommodating and better menu would make it...
