My cosmic wanderers, gather ’round, for I must share the sensual wonder that is Songbird Cafe—a sanctuary where your soul and body are seduced by the sweet embrace of Mother Earth herself. The moment I crossed the threshold, I felt the universe itself sigh with pleasure, wrapping me in a sultry, warm embrace that whispered promises of delights yet to come.
Stepping into Songbird is like entering a lover’s bedroom at dawn—soft light filtering through the leaves, caressing everything it touches, making the room feel alive with a slow, throbbing pulse. The air is heady with the intoxicating scent of freshly ground coffee mingling with the earthy, musky aroma of homemade pastries. Every breath feels like foreplay, teasing your senses, awakening parts of you that you didn’t know were yearning.
The staff, oh, the staff—these radiant, beautiful beings, each one glowing with an inner light that draws you in. Their smiles are like a lingering kiss, warm and full of promise, as they ask you what you desire. When they hand you that cup of rich, dark coffee, it’s not just a drink; it’s a love potion. The heat of it seeping through your fingers, the smoothness as it slides down your throat, leaving behind a taste that lingers like a lover’s breath on your lips.
And then, the food—oh, the food is an erotic experience all its own. The avocado toast is a sensual dance of textures—creamy, ripe avocado spread thickly over warm, toasted bread that crackles under your teeth. Every bite is a kiss, soft yet full of intent, with a hint of salt that makes your tongue tingle and your body crave more. The eggs are perfect, their yolks oozing golden, thick, and rich—a slow, luscious flow that teases your tongue and fills you with warmth, like the first touch of a lover's hand in the morning.
Songbird isn’t just about filling your stomach; it’s about awakening your deepest desires. The music wraps around you like a lover’s arms, gentle acoustic rhythms that pulse through your body, making you sway, making you want to move closer to someone, to something, to everything. There’s a rhythm here, a heartbeat that syncs with your own, making you feel connected, alive, and oh-so-ready to explore the pleasures of the day.
As I sat there, cradling my chai latte—a golden, spicy concoction that tingled on my lips, warming me from the inside out—I couldn’t help but let out a small, satisfied moan. This was more than just a drink; it was an act of love, an intimate moment shared between me and the universe. Every sip was like a kiss, warm and lingering, leaving a trail of heat that spread through my body, filling me with a deep, primal satisfaction.
Songbird Cafe isn’t just a place—it’s an experience, a sensual journey that leaves you breathless, satiated, and yet craving more. It’s where your body and soul can indulge in the pleasures of life, where every taste, every scent, every sound is designed to make you feel, deeply and truly. So come, my fellow lovers of life, and let Songbird awaken your senses. Once you’ve tasted the delights they offer, you’ll be longing to return, again and again, for just one more taste of that sweet,...
Read moreAmazing atmosphere. Beautiful location and a live band was playing when we dined there. Unfortunately the restaurant seemed understaffed for how busy it was but that's not necessarily the fault of the business, however it led to lots of confusion with waitresses bringing food outside to the wrong tables and having to ask who had what. Extremely unorganised.
As for the food, we had a brekky burger, arancini and spinach/ricotta cannelloni. The burger was good, although the almost overpowering taste of curry powder or something similar in the relish outshone the other flavours.
The arancini were delicious and there are absolutely no complaints there.
The cannelloni, on the other hand, was so abysmal that I had to spit my first and only mouthful out into a napkin. I don't think I've done that at a restaurant in my entire adult life and I'm almost 30. The sauce was watery like if a normal napoli sauce had been mixed 50/50 with, well, water, and for some reason it had a balsamic glaze drizzled over it which did not contrast well at all with the intended flavours of the dish. Please, for the love of everything that is holy, if you are a staff member or the owner, taste the cannelloni and tell me if that's a dish you want served to your customers.

Amazing warm and rustic atmosphere with that cosy country feel. Sit by the fire place and feel the warmth, hear the crackle while enjoying a great coffee and an amazing meal.
This place is a step above with food made with thought and care, even the most basic item on the menu is made with passion.
The staff make you feel welcome & comfortable.
A great stop for motorbike riders or a retreat from the hustle of Melbourne. A perfect winter stop.
My most recent visit was a step above. As I rode my motorbike to Kinglake in the winter air, it was great to walk in to a nice warm fireplace. The coffee was great as always and I ordered the chicken schnitzel burger with chips, a pretty basic order. When I took my first bite of the schnitzel burger it just melted in my mouth and tasted amazing. Who would have thought a schnitzel burger would be so good.
The chocolate pudding for dessert was equally amazing, took me back to childhood, warm chocolate pudding with vanilla icecream, a contrast of hot and cold that just gets the taste buds going.
This place is definitely worth the drive out...
