Magnolia wine Bar and cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

I very rarely review restaurants now unless they are top or bottom examples! I think this restaurant is absolutely perfect for a small space in a regional town. The experience 3 of us had last night was so good. The service and atmosphere impressed but I have rarely had such faultlessly executed food in even top city restaurants. I was pleased to see that the wine selection offered is a representation of local regional wines. These can be matched with simple high quality dishes which are also often locally sourced. The Italian style ham entree was generous and served with burrata and pear. My fish was a crispy skinned delight with creamed celeriac and a tangy salad. I tasted my companions’ meals and they were delicious, especially the seafood pasta dish. Duck fat potatoes are always a good complement and these were crispy/fluffy and slightly herbed. The aperitif, local g&t was so pretty with little flowers in the ice cubes and our dessert was a delight of balanced textures and sweetness. So congratulations to the team at Magnolias. We visted Magnolia restaurant Thursday evening and the food surpassed our expectations. Everything was delicious, with a great balance of flavours, textures and precision presentation but we were particularly impressed with the croquets, which were brilliantly cheesy and had surprising hit of spice from the wasabi and sambar sauces. The second dish we were immensely impressed with was Anjal's seafood pasta, it was beautifully seasoned and tasted of the ocean. Each mouthful continued to hold its flavour throughout the entire plate and left me wanting to eat nothing more so I could savour the flavours.

It was one of the most memorable and enjoyable meals I had had in a long time. Anjal should be congratulated for his mastery of the dishes he prepared and presented. I look forward to enjoying more meals...

We celebrated my 50th at Magnolia and enjoyed an outstanding experience with exquisite food from Angal in his beautiful space. Everything was impeccable, the service, menu, generous portions, beverages including wine menu and masterfully concocted cocktails. Right from the first conversation with Angal in discussing the event we new we had chosen the perfect person to assist us in making our celebration the best possible. Angal was outstanding throughout the whole process. I highly recommend this venue and I really look forward to dining at Magnolia as much as possible. Keep up the great work Angal.
