Queens Head Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

Not too sure about the previous 5 star reviews since the new owners took over as we certainly did not experience any 5 stars meals tonight. We planned our dinner for a birthday based on the reviews since the new owners took over. It started with such a long wait for our food order and even with the trivia on in the dining room, the dining room was not full.

The meals and the quality of the food was a huge letdown for the total price we spent for 4 people. After our meals we were not even tempted to pay out anymore money for deserts or more drinks.

The vegetables were overcooked and definitely old. Carrots were unbelievably grey, cauliflower was grey, broccoli was turning yellow. The vegetables should not have been served and should have been given to the neighbourhood chickens. The mash potato was not beautiful and creamy how it should be served but dry with minimal milk and butter and no seasoning. Lamb cutlets were deep fried and served dark overcooked crumbs. The Kiev was overcooked and so dry Meals served with cold chips. Mushroom sauce was so watery with minimal mushroom in it.

We witnessed some other tables waiting for their food being very unsettled as well with meals being delivered inconsistently where others on their table had finished their meals before others even receiving their meal.

I know this review would seem really harsh but having had several restaurants interstate ourselves our feedback needs to be truthful so the owners can address the issue if they truely want to succeed. Last thing we want to see is another business gone bust through lack of care by...

This bistro is nowhere near ready for trade. Issues are: *The kitchen staff could be heard chatting from the dining room at an inappropriate level My dish, the vegetable stir fry arrived covered in a sweet and sour sauce which was not in the description what i ordered, containing ordinary salad vegetables including RADISHES(!) and it was inedible due to the level of spice which included whole mustard seeds, chilli and black pepper. It was not a traditional stir fry recipe and it was sent back to the kitchen. They replaced it with the pumpkin soup and garlic bread which i ordered as an alternative and this dish was also heavy on the black pepper. No drinks menu available yet *No hot drinks available yet wait staff not wearing masks...

Decided to give the new bistro a go last night with the family and the food quality was absolutely horrendous! The prawns were like rubber bullets as they had clearly been heated from frozen, the Parma had pizza spam on it instead of ham and the most oily cheese I've ever seen, the plate was full of oil from the cheese. One look at the drugged up kitchen staff and it was any wonder the food came out the way it did. Get your act together.
