Sadly I had the worst steak the other day. The boss actually came to our table and recommended we get some steaks. I’m not sure if the chef trying to ruin the reputation of the restaurant or the boss trying to get rid of out of date supplies. We asked for medium cooked steaks and the steaks were burned and bitter, with suspicious fishy flavour, most likely they were not eye fillets. The quantity of the chips on plate were pathetic. The waiter wasn’t surprised at all when we asked to return those steaks. We requested pastas as replacements cause we really don’t trust the steak supply that night. The replacements were poor in quantity again. I will not say I’m a regular customer but I’ve been there a few times, a little disappointed.I don’t know if I can trust the restaurant anymore in the future for other occasions. Honestly the pasta sauce was nice so I give one more star for that.
Hi there, it’s interesting that even though you keep saying you’re sorry, there were always a but after that, I’m not here to argue anything just as a customer expressing my thoughts of my experience. If you read carefully you can see it’s poor QUANTITY I wrote. It was two spoons of pasta in one...
Read moreRecently had a spectacular evening at Table 48, with prompt and attentive service and incredible food. We called only about 5 minutes prior to arriving to check for table availability, and after arriving, was quickly greeted and shown to our table. We advised that we had another engagement to attend and needed to leave approximately 45-50min after being seated. They were happy to accomodate this, and after receiving our drinks, we received the meals about 10min after ordering.
The food was amazing. We ordered the seafood linguini and a chilli prawn special, and the seafood was so fresh, with every bite melting instantly in our mouths. The sauces were flavourful, beautifully balanced, and complemented the quality of the ingrediants perfectly. I have truly not had this quality of seafood, even at specialty restaurants literally metres from fishing docks.
The atmosphere was quiet due to it being early, but fairly typical of most Aussie bistros/pubs. Nothing outstanding in this area, but plesant enough and didn't detract anything from what was in all other aspects, a...
Read moreVery disappointed in this dining experience. As a family we ordered 4 meals and drinks, my wife asked about the lamb and what part of the lamb they were serving and I enquired if the sauces for my rib eye were cream based. As we were near the kitchen, we heard the head chef say to the server " ask them if they want to know what colour jocks I have on" This was the start of the disappointment. Apparently Table 48 are renowned for their steaks.... as mentioned, I ordered the rib eye cooked to a medium.. The steak came out and from the first bite I knew it was extremely overcooked , to the point of being very dry to chew. The mushroom gravy that was poured over the top , not on the side like I would have expected, was nice and the only thing that made this meal bearable. This is the second time I have eaten there with my family and I can say that it will be the last. Rude chefs, poor cooking skills and a huge push on the drinks ( asked every 5 min) have made this a " no go zone" for myself and family. Save your money and go to the Steak House in Ballarat for a...
