Rays Fish & Chips Bannockburn — Restaurant in Victoria

It was a crisp Friday afternoon and as I strolled into Rays fish and chips with my friends my stomach was growling for a good feed. To my absolute delight my favourite worker Bryce was working which took my day from a 1 to a 10.

I ordered my chicken schnitzel burger and paid a very good and fair price as I was served by the always reliable Gil. I then sat down and waited (not for long though) in anticipation for my burgah.

When my number was called out my heart fluttered as I skipped to the front counter to receive my feed. I snatched the Burgah out of Bryce’s hand. As I opened up the wrappers surrounded with my friends enjoying their meals, I knew life couldn’t get much better.

As I took my first few bites. I knew two things: This is quality food. Bryce had cooked this as it was above and beyond type quality (the only kind that Bryce knows).

If I could give this place an extra gold star I would. 5 stars just doesn’t simply seem enough for such a masterpiece of an establishment....

Been going to Rays for over 10 years. The first time we got dinner from here after the new ownership we noticed the quality had dropped considerably and there were items missing from the order. Fast forward 4 weeks to tonight and the other members of my family wanted fish & chips so we thought we'd give it another go. What a mistake. $53 and literally one third of the order was missing when we got home. Half of what we did get was undercooked and soggy, the other half was cooked till it was burnt and hardly recognisable. When I called I was told they can cook the forgotten part of the order and I can come back to get it or have a credit. I said since 3 people here are missing their food we obviously need it and asked if they will be delivering the missing items and they said no they won't do that. So my dinner from elsewhere that I'd paid $30 for was ruined because I had to drive back to get what they forgot. Certainly don't need a credit for a shop I have absolutely zero intention of...

Righto I haven't been to Ray's for a while, didn't realise there were new owners. Flake was good. Chips were like cardboard. Gravy wasn't to bad,bit salty. Huge burger but no flavour. 5 souvalaki average 6 schnitzel burger over cooked but not to bad in flavour Banana fritters. Well how do we explain them..doey, chips flavour and gross Banana. Think we called them once dissected,sea creatures. Cardboard potato cakes. And then we come to the price.$134 .that did include drinks and scallops (which apparently were ok) Don't recon...
