At the Botanical Hotel 555 Napier St Bendigo we were met at the entrance to the indoor dining space by a welcoming quick witted comedic hostess. We were swiftly seated at table 37 directly in front of the gas burning log fire which was toasty warm on this cold winters night. The two meals we ordered from the extensive menu were Calamari with salad and a Supreme pizza along with drinks. Both meals arrived promptly and at the same time. We were both impressed with meals and quality of them. Well done to the attentive and professional staff. We will return.

Amazing venue, awesome atmosphere and staff, kids packs handed out at reception so kids were entertained from the start, awesome tap beer selection and bar layout, but I thought the food was a little average not a parmas I would boast about or go back for and considering the "kids parma"is just a little smaller and $4 less I would've expected the "full parma" to be a little bigger, fantastic salad and gravy, and the desserts were absolutely amazing

Mothers day lunch! Cute hotel, well spread out. Ordered a Texan Parma, Seafood basket and Boss Burger. All pictured the seafood basket was well presented and reasonable size for the price, the burger and parma were both ordered by men and fell well short of sufficient. Everything was cooked well just very minimal not great value for money. Can't say I would rush back for a meal but overall it is a nice space to kick back for a couple of beverages.

I used to love coming here, but no so much after my last visit. The drinks prices are unbelievably expensive as are the card surcharges - highly recommend taking cash if you want to purchase anything here.

I had a pizza on our last visit and it was disgusting. I've had nicer ones from the freezer at Aldi's for 3 bucks! It had stuff all toppings on it and was completely tasteless. When staff asked whether i wanted to take it home with me i told them no and they asked why and i told her. They said ok, we will just waste it then. They didn't care that it didn't meet expectations.

The menu is also priced poorly, and if you want to change the side your meal comes with you have to pay a fortune to do so.

The other meals delivered to our group were also very average, including the chicken schnitzel which was around 3inches square. The kids nuggets meal that came out was bigger than the adults meal.

Also, the trees they have placed around randomly are dangerous, you walk around a blind corner and cop a tree branch in the eye - not very safety conscious.

All in all it was a very disappointing and expensive visit and i have no desire to go back again unless i hear things have improved. It used to be a great place to visit, but i think they have tried to take it...

I went to the Botanical Hotel on Wednesday night with my family to celebrate a birthday. It was fabulous!

I haven't been since it reopened as The Botanical following the closure of the Wellington some time back. I hadn't particularly liked the Wellington so I was keen to see how things were going under new ownership.

Firstly, the refurbishment works are gorgeous. It's hard to believe it is the same place - and easy to forget it is essentially a pub bistro. It's quite stylish and lovely.

We had a group of 10 and we were seated at a beautiful big solid timber square table - no awkward long table where you can't see everyone! It was perfect for our group.

The menu is great - there are a wide range of reasonably priced meals and everyone in our group (including the vegetarian) was able to find something to suit their tastes. The meals themselves were delicious - everyone from the toddlers to grandparents enjoyed them.

The staff were friendly, from booking over the phone and ordering at the bar right through to service of meals. The meals were served in a very timely manner also.

We were all really impressed and we will...

Used to eat every week as a teenager/child, first time back in 8 years and honestly, wish I never came back, ruined my memory of this place been a reliable bar, Order a classic chicken snitz, with Sealed and chips, gravy… The chicken, ugh don’t get my started, yes they use good cuts of Brest and good it well, but I tell you know I know when my chicken has been tendered and treated well, it had no love, the most blend chicken snitz I have ever eaten, some processed chicken taste better, chips under cooked, no salt when salt was requested and to have the waiter be disrespectful when I did ask for some, And lastly the gravy was the most disappointing as well, I was thinking at least there not the best I can’t eat with my gravy, nope I was wrong, gravy was laced with 200% more then normal amount of Pepper I reckon, my panther who loves pepper even stated that it was way to strong Rant over Wouldn’t...
