The Good Meal Project — Restaurant in Victoria

Been here twice and both times experienced dismissive and arrogant service from the barista/?owner. The first time was a genuinely polite enquiry about my coffee I had ordered 10 mins before my friends had arrived, but it still had not arrived when my friends coffees were being put down - "I'll get to it, OK?!". It's not like I order anything complicated - I have a regular latte... Perhaps he hadn't had his coffee yet I thought?

During the second visit my food order came out incorrectly, but the same chap (who clearly hates me for some reason) refused to resolve it. "That's the way it comes!". I'm ok with that, but perhaps you could have told me that when you took down my (altered) order?

Their menu is pretty simple and limited, coupled with the described inflexibility renders it likely to suffer a short, but arrogant, lifespan. With plenty of good options elsewhere for brekky, I'd head to Pako or...

Went for lunch with my wife, looking to order and the menu had three items? The waiter came and said “what would you want for lunch” my wife said there is only three items “maybe next time”. He said to my wife “we haven’t run a business on bad food” abruptly. My wife said there is nothing that grabs me. He said “step out or your comfort zone and try something different” with a short chuckle. I said no thank you. He started to insist again and we walked out. I have never been pushed to order from a three item menu, and $19 a egg with toast. What a shame in Geelong. There are better places to get coffee and a real meal. This place has tickets on it self. I love everything about this café. The coffee with almond milk is amazing and the food is delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. The venue is lovely and a great place to meet for a catch up with friends. One of the main reasons I love it is that it is all about sustainability and being as 'green' as possible. It has a real community feel as it is bringing bartering back by sourcing local produce and offering a reward such as coffee.
