Made the error of dining here with my partner after briefly scanning reviews. We ate in and ordered teriyaki chicken hand rolls, salmon sushi (nigiri & seaweed rolls), edamame sticks and steamed rice.
The salmon sushi wasn’t enjoyable, the rice was dry and very cold due to being in the cooler a long time and the salmon wasn’t fresh.
Despite the fact we were dining in and there was no other customers - the waitress grabbed a sushi platter from the cooler, placed it on a plate, waited a while then served it to me as “freshly prepared”, at a greater price than the take away platter I was actually presented. I thought I’d give her the benefit of the doubt and try it, it was stale and cold - not enjoyable. I asked her if it was fresh - she said she didn’t know, then confessed it was from the cooler. I asked if I could please get some freshly made, she then insisted my dish was freshly prepared. I was hungry so I suffered through it until I could no longer.
The teriyaki rolls were below average, however the rice was okay and the edamame sticks were actually pretty good.
Upon checking out I requested a discount to our $25.70 bill - not an unjust price generally, but in this case I felt I was paying for value I didn’t get and lies revived instead of customer service. The employee didn’t want to hear it, instead of hearing my concerns, she took it personally and made a big fuss, emotionally talking at me, proclaiming how fresh everything was and making a scene in front of other customers that had since entered. After a few minutes of politely trying to convey my concerns I conceded and handed over the money.
Food may be good here, not in my experience - however customer service is non existent and this isn’t the only instant of lying to customers you’ll see...
Read moreOrdered sushi and fried octopus skewers. My daughter enjoyed her sushi but the octopus was terrible. Like eating rubber bands or grisel. The plates were also chipped. When I went to pay and mentioned these things I got an apology but was offered no discount off the food at all. As a result I will not return and cannot recommend. EDIT: You have replied saying I should have asked for a discount. No,you provided the$10 worth of fried rubber bands on the chipped plate and still expected me to pay full price. The onus is on you to compensate me without expecting me to ask. Anybody that cares for the customers that keep their business going knows that if your product and service isn't up to scratch, a customer should be compensated. Besides, I did tell the cashier that I expected a discount when I went to pay and was still charged the full amount I did not get one. Apparently I also need to tell you that you shouldn't be serving food on chipped plates. I find it shocking really that instead of just apologising and attempting to make amends, you have attempted to put responsibility for your failures onto a paying customer. I'm sure you have many happy customers who either have not had my experience or don't take issue with paying for fried rubber bands on chipped plates. I'm just no longer...
Read moreWe have been coming here for awhile and we love the quality of the food. Recently we have been dissatisfied with the service of a particular worker we hadn’t seen before. She comes across as rude and cold. Every time we come in and it’s not busy, she will be standing somewhere not doing anything. I feel like I’m being stared at because whenever I look over we lock eyes. Not long ago she sat us right next to the kitchen, when the place was empty, and stood uncomfortably close watching us eat our meal, basically the whole time. When she drops our food at the table, she puts it wherever, not in-front of us. She then abruptly proceeds to ask us to hand over our menus that are on the other side of the table, which I had to gather them together and pass them over. I think a more well mannered approach would be attending to the correct side of the table for collecting such things, or dropping off food. Her presence makes us uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate because we love...
