Before Van's, this cafe used to be a corner deli and it is quite nostalgic to see that it still offers the self-selection boxes of novelty candies on shelves under the counter. I can imagine the children from the primary school across the road would appreciate this little range of sugary goodness after school. The cafe seems to be a family run business. It has the option for take-away, home delivery via app or a modest inside dining area with one or possibly 2 tables available. Or you can dine al fresco on the front decked verandah, surrounded by grapevines, fruit trees, herbs and such, which is probably the best choice on a fine day/evening. Payment is made in advance at the counter and there is table service.
This establishment does not only offer Vietnamese cuisine, the menu offers full options of burgers, fish and chips. My young daughter loves this option, though I find it makes the Vietnamese selection seem a little less 'special' somehow by having the plethora of fried western food options right there on the menu. In my mind Vietnamese cuisine is fresh, flavourful and a lot healthier than typical western food, and this is exactly what you will be enjoying should you choose the traditional Vietnamese options at Vans and Cafe.
This is not a self-conscious corner cafe, you will find no dress-code, nothing over-priced and no glamour here.

Previous review 4⭐ A family business that offers Asian and Western food at the same place. Well done. Friendly staff. Vietnamese foods are good, the price is reasonable, portion sizes slightly lesser but I prefer"Asian" portions by not overeating. 🌟, I have never been to any Vietnamese restaurant where there is no complimentary hot tea.☕
❌Serving time is longer than estimated, there were only 3 persons who cook, serve, take away and cashier, etc. The location is in the residential area, basically only serve...
Read moreI need to have a few more meals here to get the feel of this eatery. I want to really like this place as it’s great to have this option in Bacchus Marsh but I found my pork chop sub standard, over cooked and quite chewy. Not what I have experienced before in any Vietnamese eatery I’ve been to. I’m a real fan of Vietnamese food and my expectations are high as I’ve had some amazing meals in the most low key type of restaurants. Hoping it was a bad night as it was getting late on a mid week if that can be at all an excuse. I’ll be...
