The food was revolting and in no way resembles or tastes like Italian food. I ordered the focaccia bread and got Aldi Turkish bread with cheap tasteless cheese on top, not a good start. Then I ordered the pasta with meat balls and I couldn’t return it fast enough. No flavours, no oil, just a jar of tomato purée poured on top of packet spiral pasta with a small bowl of fake cheap Parmesan cheese. When I said to the waiter/cook that the food was inedible, he asked if I wanted some garlic or cream, I said to him that flavours need to infuse into the sauce while it cooks if you want a flavoursome sauce; he looked at me with a blank gaze which told me he had not even a basic idea about cooking. My wife and daughter ordered the pasta Alfredo. Another disaster. Old dry chicken mixed with an Aldi jar of corn flour “bechamel” sauce and square pieces of bacon thrown in. Cheap, lazy and disgusting fake Italian food. Not...
Read moreWent to VerSicilia Ristorante for dinner on the weekend and was treated with poor service and poor attitude. Initially walking in, the main female server told us there was no table available even though there was 3 tables right there.
After mentioning that, she gave us a table but took a further 40 mins to take our order even though we were clearly ready to be served prior. Unfortunately it seemed to be racial motivated as we noticed another family of different descent denied entry as well.
From such a welcoming town it was disappointing to see such behaviours and unequal treatment from a highly reviewed restaurant.
In response to what you have said, it is clear that you aren't aware of which customers we were as we were seated inside in the left corner and we weren't in a rush to leave at all. Before denying any claims, please be aware of which customers have...
Read moreThe restaurant had a lot of charm apart from the couple of drinks and gelato commercial fridges. The service was great and the waiter (maybe owner?) was very attentive. However as far as I'm concerned the main ingredient of a restaurant is the food. I had a large serving of pasta marinara. I would normally have spaghetti but he said the choices were Fettuccine, Twister or Gnocchi which were all fresh. I went for Fettuccine but it was grossly under cooked. The man issue was that I only got 2 pawns, 2 scollops and 2 calamari rings which I think is pathetic on a large portion. At our local, it may not have fresh pasta but you get a really tasty sauce with tons of seaford. I hope they lift their game because we really like Port Albert and theirs is the only restaurant there...maybe that's the problem...no...
